The National Library of Medicine (NLM) collects, maintains, and provides access to the largest collection of print and electronic biomedical sciences resources in the world. The library supports and conducts research and development in the fields of biomedical informatics. NLM creates electronic resources including PubMed, MedlinePlus, MeSH, ClinicalTrials.gov, UMLS, and TOXNET. These are used millions of times daily by searchers from all over the world. NLM training and outreach programs and the NLM National Network of Libraries of Medicine provide health information to countless librarians, healthcare providers, researchers, students, educators and patients.
