MacDowell makes a place in the world for artists, because art makes the world a better place.

At MacDowell we believe that art makes the world a better place. We also believe that to create inspiring art, artists need a place that inspires them. At MacDowell we create a space where inspiration happens on a daily basis, so that artists can do the work of inspiring us to take a fresh look at the way we connect to the world and to each other.

All of the things that help our work go deep—are more than just supporting individual artists. It’s a way of valuing the imagination, valuing creative thinking, at a time when we need it more than ever. I can’t imagine anything more important. Thank you for this gift!
