Iron Awareness Week
27 AUGUST - 2 SEPTEMBER, 2018
Iron Awareness Week is an annual campaign which draws attention to the issue of iron deficiency in many New Zealanders, namely young children, teenagers and women.
Facilitated by Beef + Lamb New Zealand, the campaign provides information on recognising the signs of low iron which include tiredness, irritability, grumpiness and frequently getting sick – often put down to running a busy lifestyle. The campaign also provides tips of incorporating iron as part of a healthy diet.
