Kidz HQ Day

The National Army Museum Te Mata Toa is hosting our annual Kidz HQ Day on Saturday 7 October 2017. Come along and enjoy a fun, family day out including a behind-the-scenes look at Waiouru Military Camp and an action-packed ride on our M548 vehicle. This year marks a special milestone for Kidz HQ as we celebrate our 10th birthday!

Registration to attend Kidz HQ Day costs $10 per child, which includes morning tea, lunch and annual membership renewal. Please remember to bring your membership card when you register on the day. To find out more about what is included in an annual Kidz HQ membership, click here.

If you have special dietary needs please ensure that you bring alternative kai to keep fueled during the day and the $5.00 lunch fee will not apply to you. Don’t forget to bring a water bottle with you as you may get thirsty during our physical activities. Please contact one of our Educators to indicate any special dietary needs as soon as possible.

Footwear and Clothing

With lots of activities in store, including a session with our friendly Army Physical Training Instructor, we will be on the move throughout the day. It is important that all participants have appropriate footwear such as sneakers or runners, preferably not jandals. Due to the often harsh climate here in Waiouru, we encourage you to bring a warm jacket in case the weather turns bad.
