The focus of the ACMG Annual Meeting is on the actual practice of genetics and genomics in healthcare today and in the future. The conference will showcase the latest breakthroughs in genetics research and their applications to medical practice and public health. The ACMG Annual Meeting attracts medical and scientific leaders from around the world who are working to apply research in genetics and the human genome to the diagnosis, management, treatment and prevention of genetic conditions and rare and common diseases in patients in the clinical setting.

Reporters will hear about the latest medical genetics research; have the opportunity to interact with doctors, laboratory professionals and genetic counselors to discuss what is happening right now in genetics and genomics; and view the latest products available in the extensive exhibit hall.

Topics range from common conditions to rare diseases. Sessions include information of interest to the general public, to health professionals and to the industry/trade.

The ACMG Meeting is the genetics meeting most focused on the practical applications of genetic discoveries to clinical medicine.

Onsite Press Room: There will be a press room available to registered media at the 2018 ACMG Annual Clinical Genetics Meeting in Charlotte.  Reporters will be able to pick up press kits and news releases and talk with ACMG Communications staff. 

Photo/TV Opportunity: The ACMG Foundation will present bicycles to local children with rare genetic diseases at the Annual Day of Caring event on Friday, April 13 at 10:30 am sharp, in the Exhibit Hall.

Social Media: As the ACMG Meeting approaches, journalists can stay up-to-date on new sessions and information by following the ACMG Social Media pages on Facebook, Twitter and by using the Twitter hashtag #ACMGMtg18 for meeting-related tweets.

Exhibitors:  ACMG does not share the media list attending the meeting, but we invite any exhibitor to leave news releases and press kits in the onsite Press Room for reporters to peruse.  Registered reporters can then choose which exhibitors they would like to contact.  We encourage you to tweet using #ACMGMtg18  because a number of media are following that feed.  Exhibitors are also able to upload news releases related to the Meeting in your company profile.  These are then listed in your booth profile and the Press and Media page of www.acmgmeeting.net.  To complete these process log in to the Exhibitor Console and click the “Manage Press Releases” link.
