When is the Museum open?
We are open everyday (excluding Christmas Day) from 9am until 4.30pm

How long does it take to go through the Museum?
The average visitor spends 1 to 2 hours in the museum.

Can I view my relatives (or my own) donated medals?
Yes. Visitors are welcome to view medals. If possible please contact us in advance to let us know you are coming so we can ensure a staff member is on hand to assist. Please ask for assistance at the admission counter.

Can I view other items my family has donated?
Yes, visitors are welcome to view objects not on display. They will however require an appointment, made in advance, with the appropriate collection curator. Without prior notice delays or the inability to assist may occur.

I would like to donate something to the Museum, how do I do this ?
Please contact the Registrar. We will check if the item/s fall within the scope of our Collection Policy and are required for the Collection. If yes, options include delivery to the Museum in person, sending via courier or mail etc. A donation receipt will be provided once the items are received.

My relative has donated something in the past, can I get it?
No, not normally. The Museum respects the wishes of the donor at the time of the donation, accepting any items received in good faith.

Any request must be in writing, addressed to the Curator.

How much would my artefact/collectable be worth?
We are sorry but Museum staff are not able to give artefact valuations.

Can I take photos inside the Museum?
Yes.

Do I need to make an appointment to visit your archives?
Yes, access to our archives is ‘by appointment only’. Please be quite specific in identifying your search requirements. This will reduce the time and costs associated with your request and also greatly assist in locating the appropriate resources.
