This is a little thicker bible than most personal size ones. But it has more added in it, like maps and charts. Also has little sections through out of little tib bits. very well made bible. would recomend to everyone.

Excellent Study Bible if you're ok with paperback - if not, get the non-paperback edition - you won't regret it either way!

Honestly, I was very excited to get a copy of the full color NKJV Study Bible even though it is a paperback version as well as Personal Size. I normally prefer the fuller size Bibles and as many of you know, I also have a preference for the leather-bound Bibles. But this review is of the paperback Personal Size edition of this Study Bible. With that said, this really is an excellent Study Bible for the price and for the size. The Study tools are very well done, and I feel that it does do a nice job helping you to understand the Word better. One of my more appreciated features in this Study Bible is probably a portion of the Book Introductions where for each book, they have a section called Christ in the Scriptures where it reveals the different teachings and pictures of Christ within each book. Very impressive as I feel often times, we can overlook how the entire Bible points to what Christ did for us even in the Old Testament. This Study Bible has the largest concordance that I have ever seen printed in a Bible it is 195 pages long. Most others seem to have anywhere from 40 to 80 pages or so on average. The color and design of this Bible is very pleasing and easy to use. This Bible is printed on pretty good opaque paper but does have a small amount of show through due to the full color portions, but it was not overly distracting for me personally. I find this show through to be fairly typical of a majority of the full-color bibles in general. For some people, the font size could likely be too small since it is 7 point, in which case, I would recommend the full size edition of The Full-Color NKJV Study Bible as it has a slightly larger font at 8 point. Thats not a lot larger font, but for some, that one extra point size might make a difference. This Personal Size edition is easy to use and compact so it feels good in the hands. Overall, I would say this is a very nice study Bible (even though it is paperback) especially if you are looking for one on the less expensive side. This is one that I would recommend, especially if you like the NKJV translation.

I received a copy of this Bible from BookLook Bloggers program (HarperCollins / Thomas Nelson) in exchange for my honest review.

This Bible is the same in content as the NKJV Study Bible that I reviewed.

The differences are a smaller font, and format size. It measures approximately 8.5 by 5.5 by 2 The font is 7 pt. for the main text and 6 pt. for the notes. This is a red letter edition. It is arranged in a double column, paragraph format, with cross references in the center column. Notes are at the bottom, with different full color features dispersed throughout the Bible. There are very small margins. Note taking will not be done in the margins. The paper is sufficiently thick. Ghosting is minimal. The paper is pretty white and contrasts well against the uniformly printed text.

This is a paperback instead of a hardback. I found the font to be a bit too small for my liking and it runs into the gutter of the page. Trying to open this thick of a glued Bible enough to read the text in the gutter is a tedious chore. I dont think Thomas Nelson considered this when they chose to use a glued binding. It should have been obvious that this would have required a sewn binding or pages with extra width to provide for the pages bending around each other. If the pages are sewn into signatures and then bound together, the spine will arch. This allows for less of a gutter, as the book will open more fully. The did use a hybrid glued binding which employs signatures glued into the spine. It is more flexible than a typical glued or perfect binding. Even with the hybrid binding process, this Bible is not as practical as it could have been in a truly sewn binding. I guess for $20 they figure who will care I do, and so do thousands of other potential customers. Perhaps the people who only crack their Bible at Church wont mind, because it wont wear out being used once a week, but if you are going to use it, I suggest getting NKJV from Holman or one of the ones with a synthetic fake leather cover and sewn binding. Sure they cost more, but they will be more usable and last longer.

This Bible is ok. It could have been much better. The notes and aids were somewhat helpful for a general knowledge. I would recommend the Holman NKJV Study Bible for better notes. My personal favorite is the MacArthur Study Bible. If you can afford the ESV in Calfskin, that is the best made one you can currently get. My advice, dont waste your time and money on this unless you need a mediocre, smallish, study Bible, to hand out or give away, but there are so many other better choices out there in the same price range that I would get them instead.

    Published by Thomas Nelson Publishers

NKJV Study Bible will make a great addition to your library. It is packed full of study notes and full color charts and pictures. At the beginning of each book, you have description of the book that contains when it was written and a short bio of the author. The charts and tables are great help in understanding parts of the book: in example, in Matthew a chart titled the Meaning of the Messiah, also an in-depth description of the Lords Prayer. Also, in Matthew a chart on Baptism in the Bible. These charts and tables can be found throughout the study Bible, adding to the understanding for all. Each page has a column of cross references to other verses and study notes on each verse. Word studies of hundreds of words with Strongs numbers are included and articles on key Bible doctrines. A deluxe Nelson concordance and Topical index add to the great references in this study Bible. The person size is easy to carry with you and decent size font for reading and is available in paperback, hardcover and imitation leather. The information found in this Bible will definitely add to your understanding of Gods Word.

Normally, Im not a fan of the NKJV version of Scripture, but this Bible came in handy to study with. The NKJV Study Bible is a great study Bible for adults who want to dig deeper into scripture.

My favorite feature are the verse by verse notes at the bottom of each section of reading. I have found this feature extremely valuable and highly recommended for any one who wants to deepen their understanding of scripture. The other feature I found helpful were the cross references and the articles highlighting key doctrines/principles in the Bible.

This is a very compact Bible and perfect to carry with you to work or for group study.

I highly recommend this Bible if youre a fan of the NKJV translation.
