The actress behind Sansa Stark revealed to Variety that HBO’s Emmy-winning fantasy epic will skip 2018 and debut its six-episode final season sometime in 2019. HBO has not confirmed a release date for Season 8, but the show was widely expected to return in either 2019 or late 2018 considering production on the show will last through summer 2018.

Lani Pixels has signed Jacob Tremblay, Christopher Lloyd, Kenan Thompson, and Mel Brooks as the voice cast in an untitled 3D animated feature directed by Kim Pagel.

Thomas Pagel, who co-founded Lani Pixels with Kim Pagel, is producing with Jason Mirch co-producing. Verité Entertainment’s René Veilleux and Donald Roman Lopez are associate producing.

The movie follows a brother and sister as they attempt to rescue their grandfather from supernatural forces that have invaded his isolated island. Jeffrey Tambor’s future on the Amazon comedy series “Transparent” remains in question following sexual harassment allegations made against him. The Emmy-winning actor appeared to be leaving the series when he exclusively told Deadline that he had made a decision not to return to “Transparent,” but a representative for the actor tells The New York Times that Tambor has not quit and has no plans to quit the series at this time.

Tambor has been accused of sexual harassment by his former assistant, Van Barnes, and his “Transparent” co-star Trace Lysette. Amazon has launched an investigation into the claims, and the series has been on hiatus as the writers figure out whether or not they will continue the series without its lead character.

James Mangold is following up “Logan” by tackling Patty Hearst, Variety has learned.

The director has come on board a still untitled adaptation of Jeffrey Toobin’s best-selling “American Heiress.” The film will not share the book’s title, but it will draw on Toobin’s reporting as it delves into Hearst’s kidnapping by the Symbionese Liberation Army and re-emergence as a member of the left-wing terrorist group. Elle Fanning is in talks to play Hearst, the Berkeley sophomore turned unlikely counter-culture revolutionary. Twentieth Century Fox is backing the project through its Fox 2000 label.

The screenplay was written by Larry Karaszewski & Scott Alexander and Mangold. Mangold will produce the film along with Nina Jacobsen and Brad Simpson of Colorforce.

John Travolta’s “Gotti” is making headlines for reportedly being dropped from release a mere 10 days before opening in theaters. Lionsgate Premiere was set to open “Gotti” on December 15, but news broke yesterday on the Tracking Board that the film would no longer be released and that distribution rights were being reverted back to producers Travolta has weighed in on the release controversy in an interview with Deadline and denies the film was suddenly dropped.

“Unfortunately, the reports were speculation bordering on fake news,” Travolta told Deadline. “Lionsgate was planning on a minimal release and I did an investigation into people who might have the interest and financial wherewithal to better release it.”

On Wednesday, six women filed a proposed class-action lawsuit in federal court in New York against the disgraced film producer and his former companies, claiming that the system that exposed them to harassment from Weinstein was akin to organized crime.

Leading art-house film director, Kim Ki-duk is expected to be fined in a case of assault against an actress.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office said on Thursday that it has indicted Kim on a summary offense with a penalty of $4,570 (KRW5 million), according to the Yonhap news agency.

The incident occurred in 2013 during the filming of Kim’s award-winning film “Moebius.” The actress, whose identity has been withheld, claims that Kim slapped her in the face while shooting the movie and forced her to take part in an unscripted, violent sex scene.
