The Hillsboro Hops' season ended on Thursday with a 10-4 loss to the Eugene Emeralds in a Northwest League South Division showdown at Ron Tonkin Field.
The Emeralds broke a 4-4 tie in the top of the ninth inning when they batted around the order. With the win, they ousted the Hops from the league's South Division best-of-three playoff series.
The Hops finished the regular season 41-35, the best regular-season record in the South Division, a game ahead of the Emeralds.
But the Emeralds dominated their head-to-head meetings during the regular season, going 8-4.
The Hops won back-to-back NWL titles in 2014 and 2015.
