The couple married last month and are also legal guardians to his 14-year-old sister.

A member of the Burns Paiute Tribe testified that Ehmer's digging of a trench on the refuge property was at the site of an ancient burial ground. U.S. District Judge Anna J. Brown noted Ehmer never apologized for his actions.
