Va. man dies after stabbing in late-night bar fight; police capture suspect

A man died Saturday night from stabbing injuries he received in a bar fight early Saturday morning in Centreville, police say. A suspect was captured.

Police responded to reports of a late-night bar fight and a possible stabbing at about 2:15 a.m. Saturday outside Velocity 5 in Centreville in the 5800 block of Trinity Parkway. They found Harold Garnett, of Centreville, with upper-body wounds, according to a statement from the Fairfax County Police.

With the help of K-9 units, officers found the suspect in nearby bushes.

Vidal Flores Cuchillas, 38, of Centreville, was arrested and taken into custody. He was charged with malicious wounding and is being held without bond.

After Garnett died, police will meet with the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney to amend the charge, according to the statement.
