16th OCTs-EU Forum - 23 February 2018
The 2017 OCT Ministerial Conference and the 16th OCTs-EU Forum will be held in Brussels, Belgium on the 22nd and 23rd of February 2018.
The OCT Ministerial Conference and trilateral meetings are organised at the margin of the OCTs-EU Forum on a yearly basis. In 2018, these events will be organised in Brussels, Belgium.
While the Ministerial Conference will be chaired by the Turks and Caicos Islands, the OCT-EU Forum will be chaired by the European Commission.
The 2013 Overseas Association Decision (OAD) of the Council lays down the rules and procedures governing the political, commercial and financial relations between the EU and the OCTs. Article 14 of the AOD defines the Forum as one of the three instances of dialogue for the Association between EU and OCTs: “An OCT-EU forum for dialogue (the ‘OCT-EU Forum’), shall meet annually to bring together OCTs authorities, representatives of the Member States and the Commission. Members of the European Parliament, representatives of the EIB, and representatives of the outermost regions shall, where appropriate, be associated with the OCT-EU Forum.”
