Preparing for your visit to GAO's Headquarters office:
- Hours of operation: 6AM to 7PM Eastern Time, Monday - Friday, except holidays
- Visitors must enter through the G Street Pedestrian access point, or if approved for parking, the G Street Garage access point.
- Visitors and vehicles entering a GAO facility must undergo security screening, and are subject to search.
- Visitors must provide the Receptionist or Security Officer at the access point with a valid picture ID, (e.g., driver's license, DoD CAC, DOJ badge, etc.), purpose of visit, GAO/USACE point of contact, and, if known, destination in the building.

By Car From Northern Virginia and Points South:
- Take I-395 North toward Washington
- Take the exit toward U.S. Capitol
- Keep left at the fork, follow signs for D St, NW
- Turn left at D St, NW
- Turn right at 3rd St, NW
- Turn left at G St. NW
By Car From Maryland and Points North:
- Take I-95 South towards Washington
- Take I-495 South
- Take the Baltimore-Washington Parkway Exit towards Washington, Exit #22B
- Merge onto MD-295 South
- Take the exit onto New York Ave/US-50 W, toward Washington
- Turn left at I-395
- Take the exit toward 3rd St. NW
- Sharp right at 3rd St. NW
- Turn left at G St. NW
By Metro:
- Take the Red Line to Judiciary Square, F St. exit.
- The Building Museum will be in front of you.
- GAO is across from the Building Museum on G St.
Or
- Take the Red, Yellow or Green Lines to Gallery Place/Chinatown, 7th & H Sts. exit.
- Head east on H St. NW toward 5th St. NW
- Turn right onto 5th St. NW
- Turn left onto G St. NW and the GAO Building will be on your left
