ANDERSEN'S 30-GAME TENURE AT OSU
In a shocking announcement Monday morning, the Oregon State Beavers athletic department sent out a news release saying they had parted ways with football coach Gary Andersen. The Beavers are one of the worst teams in major college football, but it was widely believed that Andersen would stick around at least one more year to turn the program around.
Here's a look back at key moments in Andersen's 30-game tenure with Oregon State.

ANDERSEN HIRED IN STUNNING MOVE
After Mike Riley surprised everyone by bolting for Nebraska on Dec. 4, 2014, the Beavers launched a national search for a new football coach. While several names were floated as potential candidates, Gary Andersen's name never came up.
Less than a week later -- on Dec. 10, 2014 -- the Beavers and then-Athletic Director Bob De Carolis announced that Andersen had been hired away from Wisconsin where he had just completed a 10-3 regular season. The hiring was stunning and seen as a coup for Oregon State.

ANDERSEN SIGNS 6-YEAR DEAL
On Dec. 12, 2014 Andersen agreed to a six-year contract that started with a base salary of $2.45 million. Andersen's salary was set to increase by $100,000 each ensuing year. It also included bonuses for winning eight, nine or 10 games in a season, winning the Civil War, reaching the Pac-12 title game and reaching the College Football Playoff or one of the "New Year's Six" bowl games.

DE CAROLIS LEAVES
Bob De Carolis, the AD who hired Andersen, announced on May 11, 2015 that he was stepping down. De Carolis, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2011, said he did not plan to retire and that he was looking forward to "upcoming adventures in the world of intercollegiate athletics." His exit set in motion a revolving door of ADs during Gary Andersen's tenure.
