The rectors of Aruba and Greenland Universities met in Brussels

A meeting between Dr Tine Pars, Rector of the University of Greenland, and Dr Glenn Thode, Rector of the University of Aruba, was held on June 28th in Brussels, at the joint initiative of the Greenland Representation in Brussels and the Aruban Representative Office in The Hague, with the support of the Technical Assistance Team to OCTA.

After a brief presentation of the both Universities, discussions focused on the identification of common needs and purposes, related to higher education mobility and international research cooperation. Among these topics, we can mention the sharing of experience and knowledge on EU programmes and the need of support to enhance the access to forthcoming EU programmes, such as Erasmus + or Horizon 2020. In addition, the meeting tried to identify common points of interest amongst OCTs’ Higher Education institutions and proposed to foster collaborative research on topics of common interests.

In conclusion, the two Rectors agreed to support the creation of a thematic network, including all OCTs’ Higher Education institutions, in order to enhance the exchange of information, experience and training on EU programme access and implementation.
