15th EU-OCT Forum - February 2017
The 15th OCTA Ministerial Conference and the 15th EU-OCT Forum will be held in Oranjestad, Aruba, on the 23rd and 24th of February 2017.
The OCTA Ministerial Conference and trilateral meetings are organised at the margin of the OCT-EU Forum on a yearly basis. In 2017, these events will be organised over 4 days, 21-24 February 2017 in Oranjestad, Aruba.
While the Ministerial Conference will be chaired by Aruba, the OCT-EU Forum will be chaired by the European Commission.
On 25 November 2013, the Council adopted an Overseas Association Decision (OAD), which lays down the rules and procedures governing the political, commercial and financial relations between the EU and the OCTs. Article 14 of the Overseas Association Decision (Decision 2014/755/UE) defines the Forum as one of the three instances of dialogue for the Association between EU and OCTs: “An OCT-EU forum for dialogue (the ‘OCT-EU Forum’), shall meet annually to bring together OCTs authorities, representatives of the Member States and the Commission. Members of the European Parliament, representatives of the EIB, and representatives of the outermost regions shall, where appropriate, be associated with the OCT-EU Forum.”
