Wes Craven confirmed on his Twitter page with a picture that there will be a newly designed mask.
In a Q&A; on her Facebook page, a fan asked Bella Thorne if she was starring in the Scream TV Series. She replied saying, "Yes it is true. i will re-enact the famous scene of Drew Barrymore in the original series."
It was announced in September 2014 by Fun World, the company that holds the rights to the mask, that Ghostface will not be in the tv show. That may change in later years, but as of now he is not in it.
Like the movie 'Scream' was influenced and a bit inspired by the Gainesville Ripper, the series is a bit inspired by the Sheila Eddy case.
Wes Craven stated in an interview that MTV should have left the mask alone and let 'Ghostface be Ghostface.'
Chanel West Coast, Ashley Rickards, Tyler Posey & other MTV stars were featured in the promo titled "Killer Party" as guests who were murdered for attending a scream party.
Kevin Williamson, the creator of the Scream movie series has no part in the show but is eager to see it.
No actors from the Scream films will reprise their roles.
Noah Foster (John Karna) is based on Randy Meeks (Jamie Kennedy) from the Scream movies.
It was announced on June 3rd, 2012, that former MTV network executives, Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley, are looking for someone to write a pilot for a potential series based on the Scream series. In 2013, it was reported, that Jay Beattie and Dan Dworkin of Criminal Minds fame had been hired to write the script for the pilot episode.
Bella Thorne rejected a lead role in Ryan Murphy's Scream Queens to appear in Scream.
Amy Forsyth was playing the role of Audrey Jensen before being replaced by Bex Taylor-Klaus.

On Feburary 22nd 2015, it was revealed that Joel Grestch (who originally played Sheriff Clark Hudson) had left the show as producers thought his character should go down a different path. This is the second actor to leave the show, the first being Amy Forsyth, who was originally playing the role of Audrey Jensen before being replaced by Bex Taylor-Klaus.
