I was a little bit worried in the beginning, but with all the videos
and stuff they released I actually started liking it, it's different
so, if you want to see a copy of Scream Movies, forget it. This is
completely different, but in a good way, it's has a good sense of
humor, which reminds me the Scream Movies, the mask it works, for me,
and actually this show has a story behind, so the killer doesn't kill
just for fun. It's funny how they try to "blame" some characters, so we
can have our own theory.
It's still in development so, we can't just say it's awful at the
premiere, this is that show that is growing episode by episode, so give
it a chance, I love it, it's different, and who is a addicted to
movies, are gonna love the references and Noah's theories.
WoW ,, i really didn't expect it to be that thrilling and full of
mysteries,, well it is no where near the movie itself and yes there are
some weirdly motionless quiescent moments MTV style like but gosh the
craziness and the jumpy scenes are patching up any unnoticeable holes.
Well The idea is Scream so it's not that new , but the execution and
the young cast and all the characters are fresh and even the director
and the writers are young too ,, its like they know and grew up on the
Legend of Scream original movie and here they're trying to make an
edited distributed version after almost 3 decades .. the screenplay is
ingeniously written and well put, each scene has a meaning and serves a
purpose in the series.
As for the cast, they're all young and new i only remember Bex
Taylor-Klaus face from Arrow ,, and their performance is engaging and
interacting.
Overall, i kinda thought the series would turn out to be a cheap
stretched copy of Scream but on the contrary,,. it was so thrilling and
have so many exuberant scenes.
Of course in this day and age, technology Youtube, and Facebook are
going to be a big part of our new television show's plots, and I guess
it's kind of a drag to see that.. Aside from that, this show is pretty
juicy.
You never know whom is going to be the next murder suspect, or murdered
cast member. It really is a lot like the Scream movies, in terms of
making fun of itself subtly. If you over-examine this show, and want to
hate it, you probably will. Honestly, I'd choose watching this (so far)
over the walking dead, any day.
Overall, it's entertaining. 9/10 for beating expectations
Well if I'm being honest, the idea of a TV series based on a 90's slasher trilogy (and Scream 4) didn't seem like a great idea when I first found out about it about a month ago. So I followed the build-up and got more and more excited as the time neared for the show's premiere. And it was worth it! Firstly; The show is different than the movies, but what did you expect? Yea, it got inspiration from the source material but it stands on it's own. Secondly; don't mind the clichés, they're meant to be there. Overall this is a fun comedy-horror/mystery with all the horror clichés in the book, you love to see someone die because they're stupid! Even the characters are clichés; There are the Jocks (popular douche bags), nerds (or in this case horror fans), and of course you have the virgins (or good girls). So have fun trying to guess who the killer is, I know I will.

As a TV series, Scream has the advantage of having infamous namesake
and it does deliver the classic slasher gimmick, although its greatest
attribute is its self-awareness. It realizes the obstacles, such as
cliché high school setting and transition from movie to series, and
rather than trying to gloss it over, Scream faces it head-on with smart
quips in addition to the mandatory pool of blood.
Premise remains the same, a killer stalks their preys before mutilating
them in gruesome fashion. The show gives this antique gore aptly, it's
pretty good in the buildup and effect of the butchering is done with
just the right tone. However, it's not just slashing away randomly, it
also tries to set an eclectic cast. As the movie itself says, the
audience should invest or care about the characters to make the killing
efficient.
Characters are presentable, casting fresh actors is a good direction to
build the series. They don't veer too much from typical high school
kids, but there is effort to broaden the personalities beyond the
expected. It uses already proved formula and tweaks it with modern
upgrade without overflowing it to needlessly aggrandized aspects.
The main concern is how much the straightforward plot can carry it for
many episodes. Its necessity to offer kills can also be taxing for a
series and unlike movie sequel or reboot, the nostalgia effect will
wear off sooner of latter. Luckily, it has room to expand and with
enough mystery, it could work for the long run.
Serializing a slasher flick might have its issues, but Scream is clever
enough to turn most of them into perks, making the classic kill fest
into a more modern version and also staying true to its root.

Just a brilliant start of this awesome series. I like each and every thing about it. Acting is very good and the plot, twist and the environment that is set is really great.. I can't ask for anymore. A brilliant start of upcoming masterpiece. I really like the fact that the "Mask" Guy is more creepy I mean they changed it make it even more creepier. I think You should start watching it without any doubt because the effect, music and everything is really cool.If you are looking for great TV series like Arrow and Flash then, this could be the one that can be compared. I wan't satisfy with the trailer but, wow the way they start it is surely going to make your day.. A brilliant start of killing franchise.
I am 15 years old. The first episode premiered tonight. I am giving it a ten for its strong start and confidence to follow the beloved movie series it hails from. I hope it keeps me unapologetic for my generosity. It's cool how they recognize how mediocre this kind of content is. Every is predictable. I hope they found solutions by making things unexpected. "You can't do a slasher movie as a TV series." I want it stretched it out but don't make it boring. What a great time to premiere though. While other shows are on weird scheduling and everyone has jumped on the Netflix ship. Here's a tip MTV: show episode reruns FREQUENTLY! People nowadays watch things only when they want or can. It's not about just catching attention but going VIRAL. Be AVAILABLE. Use YOUTUBE to promote. Fingers crossed. Sincerely, the youth teen demographic.
While I was hesitant to watch the show I am happy to admit I liked it. While it definitely does not compete with the high standards set by the films the show definitely takes everything in a new direction. A lot of people hate it because its not like the films but this is a new generation of slasher. We are less reliant on the good old style fun of the original and more reliant on scares technology has to offer. This is a show not to be taken to seriously and should be considered as good fun. The acting may seem a little weak at times and the scares are nowhere near as frightening as it could be but the basic premise is original, a mix of scream and other slasher classics. The show needs to be made scarier to compete with the films and earn over fans but if the show continues heading in this direction I'm sure more seasons will come. Just like how the films payed homage to cult classic slasher films the show acknowledges modern day horror shows e.g. bates motel, and adapts the fun horror rules and clichés of the original to a TV format. The action and scares will happen slower and less frequently but if the show relies on the tension and suspense of the original film we could be looking forward to a great first season. The characters are clichéd and rehashes of the original films but them and the plot are surely entertaining. The show definitely needs more suspense, longer victim chases and decent character development to the stereotype stock characters we have now. For fans of the original stop comparing the show to the film, while it obviously cannot compete with them it definitely has fun toying around the rules of the original series and manipulating certain elements so expect less 1996 and more 2015. I just hope the series has an amazing end of season twist for the killers revelation like with the original films, we wouldn't want anything boring and predictable.
Okay, this isn't anything in comparison to the Scream Movies. Different
story, different killer, different town, different characters. I don't
think its fair to make comparisons to this show to the Movies. Despite
them sharing the same name I think people are giving it bad reviews
because they are comparing it to the movies.
That being said this show is very thrilling and I like how it has a
story behind it, with the whole Daisy thing. Its not just some killer
wanting revenge and killing off a bunch of people (which the movie did
very well) it actually has a story and because its a TV series where
going to follow the characters throughout how many seasons it has and
watch while they balance their everyday life and solve the mystery of
who the killer is.
If your looking for something scary, then maybe you should just stick
with the movies, I wouldn't say this show is very scary. I found the
original ghost face mask scarier. Overall I enjoyed the pilot of this
show and would recommend.
Needless to say show is based on "Scream" movie franchise which I am
not big fan of but thought of trying it out as I like suspense and
thriller genre.
Story goes like bunch of school friends upload a secretly taken video
on YouTube which goes viral and slashing(as mentioned in show) starts
happening. Each character has an hidden untold secret about them which
begins to unfold as episode progresses.
I feel makers tried to fit in too many things in one episode. There are
so many things happening that you start losing track. There is also not
enough screen time given to each character and they have tried to rush
to main plot without building a solid platform.
There is nothing new or extra-ordinary about the show which will blow
your mind. Acting and Direction are just about average.
My final verdict will be you can give it a try if you have free time.
