Graduates

For recent graduates or those soon to graduate from university, there are two paths for joining Informa.


Each of our five divisions has interesting and rewarding entry-level roles. Our vacancies page has details of current positions.


Informa also offers a Graduate Fellowship Scheme, a structured yet flexible programme that allows graduates, or fellows, to explore different areas of the company and be mentored by senior Informa managers.

    The Informa Graduate Fellowship Scheme is a two year programme that allows fellows to develop a variety of skills while exploring different industries and roles, with the potential to transition to a permanent role in the company.

    The programme is tailored to each person's skills, interests and aspirations. It also includes the opportunity to train and work outside of Europe.

    Fellows undertake placements in each of Informa's five divisions:  Academic Publishing, Business Intelligence, Global Exhibitions, Knowledge & Networking and Global Support
    • The first phase consists of four placements, each four months long, within the UK

    • Participants are actively involved in a variety of live projects

    • The second phase fellows undertake a six month placement outside of Europe, followed by two months in a division of their choice

    • Mentoring from senior Informa managers throughout and networking within the fellowship group

       

    • Fellows have the potential to transition to a permanent role on completion

    • Informa offers an excellent starting salary and benefits package

The application process to join the Graduate Fellowship Scheme for 2017 is now closed.

There are four stages to the assessment process:

  • Submission of a CV and covering letter, stating your interest in joining the programme and Informa

  • A video interview - allowing you to showcase your skills and passion in the privacy of your own home

  • Participation at an assessment centre day

  • A face-to-face interview with Informa management

Graduates who join the Informa Graduate Fellowship Scheme can expect to assume the following responsibilities:

Projects and roles

  • Assist in delivering projects/results to a high quality and within agreed timeframes

  • Assist with ad hoc projects as required

Teamwork

  • Work closely and share information with the team, department and other areas of the division and group

  • Regularly and pro-actively communicate progress to your line manager to demonstrate transparency and accountability

Personal and professional development

  • Develop understanding of the team and how functions contribute to the overall business

  • Take responsibility for seeking training opportunities, through formal training schemes and knowledge sharing

  • Share best practice with other team members

With support, develop an awareness of your own motivations and the direction you would like to take your career

Informa is a diverse international organisation. Within the company, there is a wide range of job types. As a result, we don’t have a fixed list of skills we demand from new employees, but the characteristics and competencies we look for in graduates include:

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

  • Good analytical and problem solving skills

  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

  • Strong organisational skills, with proven ability to manage own time and work to deadlines

  • Digitally savvy, with an interest and understanding of emerging technologies

  • Ability to write reports in a succinct and direct manner

  • Attention to detail

  • Driven by results; a self-starter

  • Positive, pro-active attitude

  • Desire to learn and build on your current knowledge base

  • Additional languages would be beneficial but not essential

You should have achieved, or be on course to achieve, a minimum 2:1 degree level or equivalent.
