The Ammunition Tracing Kit
To allow for more accurate reporting and make findings widely available, the Small Arms Survey has designed and produced the Ammunition Tracing Kit. This user-friendly reference tool enables rapid, reliable, and responsible reporting of small-calibre (under 12.7 mm) ammunition in a variety of circumstances.

Interactive Maps and Charts of Armed Violence Indicators
The Global Burden of Armed Violence reports, released in 2008, 2011 and 2015, take an integrated approach to the complex and volatile dynamics of armed violence around the world, bringing into sharp focus the wide-ranging costs of conflict and crime on development. The interactive maps and charts on this page refer to important indicators of armed violence.
The Transparency Barometer on Arms Export Reports
The Small Arms Trade Transparency Barometer has been developed to assess and compare countries' transparency in reporting on small arms exports. The Transparency Barometer is based on a set of guidelines and a coding system, taking into account of national reports as well as submissions to UN databases.

Identification and Support Cards
The set of Small Arms ID Cards were launched in 2006 with the objective to aid in the visual identification of a selection of firearms commonly used in contemporary armed conflict and crime. These cards have been requested by peacekeepers and researchers in countries as diverse as Afghanistan and Uganda.

Weapons ID Database
The Survey has developed a comprehensive visual identification system for a broad range of weapons. The database provides a number of filter and search options to identify particular types of weapons as well as downloads of ID sheets for each type of weapon. With well over 30 varieties and copies of the original Kalashnikov assault rifle alone, this database is a valuable tool for any practitioners working in the field of small arms.

Unplanned Explosions at Munitions Sites
Unplanned explosions at munitions sites (UEMS) are a global problem. A single UEMS incident often results in dozens of casualties and millions of dollars in damages to nearby buildings, infrastructure and homes. Recent research reveals that these incidents are quite common. The Small Arms Survey has produced an historical overview of every known UEMS event dating back to 1987.

Conflict, Crime and Violence Results Initiative (CCVRI) Resources
The Conflict, Crime and Violence Results Initiative (CCVRI) provides assistance to the country offices of the United Kingdoms Department for International Development (DFID) through a Help Desk function. The organizations involved in the CCVRI are developing guidance and good practice guides on a range of key issues, intended to support DFID country offices and their partners to develop better measures of programme results in difficult conflict and fragile environments.

Design, Monitoring and Evaluation Training
Since 2011, the Small Arms Survey (SAS), together with the International Programme for Development Evaluation Training (IPDET), the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP), the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD), and the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces’ through its International Security Sector Advisory Team (DCAF/ISSAT) have been organizing a training workshop on Design, Monitoring and Evaluation for Peacebuilding, Security and Development. This training aims at enhancing skills in design, monitoring and evaluation in the peacebuilding, security, and development sectors.
