Whether you have lost your job or financial aid because of criminal charges, or you are frustrated at seeing your tax dollars wasted on policies that don't work, the drug war has affected you.
The overwhelming majority of drug violation arrests are for possession of a controlled substance, which means that the criminal justice system and law enforcement are punishing mostly non-violent drug users, not kingpins.
Criminal drug charges can permanently eliminate education and job opportunities, and people of color are disproportionately arrested for drug violations. More people in the criminal justice system also means more tax dollars going to waste for every American citizen.
