STEAM READINESS AUCTION – We are seeking to renew our focus on the museum's core mission statement as we get ready to bring back steam train operations. This includes an examination of our collection. Numerous items collected over the years either do not fit the appropriate time period or the needs of the museum. An auction is planned for May 2, 2015 and will offer the incredibly rare opportunity to bid on a few of the treasures stored at Mid-Continent Railway Museum. Items range from model trains and railroad dining china all the way to maintenance-of-way equipment and several actual, full-size historic railroad cars and steam locomotives. An open house to view the items is planned for May 1st. Read more or view the flyer.

STEAM STATUS PAGE – Our Steam Status page contains the latest information about the C&NW No. 1385 and Saginaw Timber Company No. 2 steam locomotive restorations.

WOODEN CAR BUILDERS — The Rolling Stock website, a fantastic resource for historical information, data, photos and more on wooden railroad cars and builders. This is an independent effort on the part of Mr. Hayes Hendricks, who recently donated the content of his website to Mid-Continent Railway Museum, where it is now hosted.

Mid-Continent is an outdoor living history museum and operating railroad recreating, preserving, and interpreting the small town/shortline way of life from the "Golden Age of Railroading" spanning the years 1880 to 1916.
