I’ve had the thought that when CCP changes a ship they should only change the blueprints. That way if the remaining old hulls are deemed superior their killmail value goes up and up as their numbers dwindle...

In practice this concept would be terrible.

CCP would suddenly have to manage many more ship variants and players would game the system.

Any balance decision becomes a question of whether its Ishar v1,v2 or current that is unbalanced. The number of interactions between different ship types drastically increases.

And power blocks would just print out 10,000-100,000 ships if they are considered overpowered to gain an edge after they get nerfed.

Its always fun when you jump a super in and your UI doesn't load :D

We have definitely had members who had to kill their client and relog after just jumping into a fight.

For the most part any fortizars within range of Imperium main space /capital systems that allow docking for groups like Panfam get removed by policy. Stops hostile sups/titans moving around

Average fleet size in a "healthy" alliance is going to be around ~5-10% of total characters in alliance. and thats going to include some multi-boxers.

HTP with 212 characters atm can do fleets of ~10 dudes unless there is a pre-pinged objective.

And remember that is just characters in alliance, not individual real people.

The term you are looking for is "inelastic" meaning the demand does not respond as much to changes in the price.

My theory is (and I am sure I will repeat this elsewhere) the people who supply PLEX will do so at lower prices. They did in the past when the assets they bought were the same price or even more expensive. As such, unless someone who liked to fly faction ships is now flying supers instead, they were buying more for a PLEX than they did at lower PLEX prices. In that case, PLEX inflation was hurting CCP's cash flow as they needed less PLEX for the same PvP.

So again, the unsubbing PLEXing uberkrabbers are not hurting CCP. Quite possibly CCP decided their game style was hurting CCPs cashflow.

Also multi-boxers and botters devalue ingame effort causing ingame prices to drop.

This means PLEX can buy more ingame, so people can buy fewer PLEX.

From that perspective CCP would profit from multi-boxers and botters no longer operating. Reality is its probably mostly neutral.
