Live Poll: Iconic Movie Catchphrases

We may not remember the entire movie, but we definitely remember the line and that's because they transcended the scripts they were from and became a part of us forever. This will NOT include superhero catchphrases, as that has been done here.

Which iconic movie catchphrase do you think is most MEMORABLE?

List: http://www.imdb.com/list/ls027074276/

My pick would be a toss up between James Bond's "The name is Bond, James Bond" and Don Vito Corleone's "I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse".

Thanks for your vote Peter, it's so darn iconic! Even those Joker-riders will be hard-pressed to vote against that one...

My vote would go to 'You talkin' to me?'.

Although for the question- 'the most memorable', I'm torn between 'Why so serious?' (which have been used like a million times, has been used for many merchandise and reminds of The Joker the very next moment someone says it),  'This is SPARTA!' and 'Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn!'

I voted for, "May the Force be with you," because Star Wars is awesome. I'm not sure some of these are "catchphrases", though, because I always thought a catchphrase was something repeated, and not just said once, which some of these are.

Personally i think the Star Wars quote should be " these are not the droids you are looking for" or " do or do not there is no try"

All are iconic, but Don Corleone's phrase was beyond iconic, and a horse's decapitated head appeared in a jerk wad's sheets.

There are a lot of good ones missing!! " there is no crying in baseball" or " build it and he will come" or " goonies never say die" " hey! I'm walkin' here!!"

Andreas,

Thanks for your ideas! With so many iconic catchphrases over the years, I was hard-pressed to include all of them. Since I am almost certain you won't be the last person to offer some suggestions, I will begin to think of more possibilities for a Part 2. These will be included on this list.

Are you sure you're not confusing the Jigsaw quote with another similar (and far more famous) quote from a certain Matthew Broderick film from 1983?  I'm not trying to suggest you're wrong.  I just don't think of any memorable quotes when I think of the "Saw" movies, and "Shall we play a game" is quite a similar quote.  Also, did you not include arguably the most famous Star Wars quote of all, "Luke, I am your father!", because that's not the actual, verbatim quote?  Either way, your list already includes too many equally legendary quotes to make an informed decision.  Cheers :)

Where was "Great Scott!" by Doc Brown or "This is heavy!" by Marty McFly in Back to the Future?

"I have a bad feeling about this" should be attributed to Han Solo rather than Obi-Wan Kenobi
It's actually said by multiple character in multiple films, but Han gets to use it several times.
(If you're going to attribute it to Obi-Wan, you shouldn't show Alec Guiness; he never said it)

I chose the why so serious cuz Heath ledger was the beat joker ever, but I think it’s a tie for movie quotes for me. The first is from boondock saints and rizzo says “I killed your cat you druggie bitch!!!” And let us not forget the many many icionic dialogues in fear and loathing in loss Vegas. My favorites being “We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers... and also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of Budweiser, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.
Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.” .... “we can’t stop here this is bay country!!!” And the famous “too weird to love too rare to die.”
