Disney, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm present at D23

Watch behind-the-scenes footage from Star Wars: The Last Jedi here.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson showed behind-the-scenes footage from his upcoming December tentpole and brought some of his stars on to the stage at D23 in Anaheim, California, on Saturday.

Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Gwendoline Christie, Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern and Benicio Del Toro joined the director and Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn.

Lucasfilm chief Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman are producing Star Wars: The Last Jedi, with J.J. Abrams, Tom Karnowski and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers. The film is set to open in Us on December 15.

Horn brought Kevin Feige to the stage for a sequence on Marvel StudiosAvengers: Infinity War, which opens on 4, 2018, and is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo.

The release will mark Marvel Studios’ tenth anniversary and Feige unveiled the official 10th anniversary logo before ushering on to the stage Robert Downey Jr., [link »

As we saw in the first Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer, red is a bit of a prominent color, at least as far as the red smoke coming out of some landspeeders. Disney Parks Reveal New Attractions Based around ‘Star Wars’, Pixar, ‘Tron’, and More

Today at D23, Disney announced some of the cool new attractions they have coming to their parks and resorts. As we reported yesterday, the biggest new theme park is Star Wars land, officially called Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. According to a press release, Galaxy’s Edge will feature two anchor attractions. Disney’s D23 Expo in Anaheim once again demonstrated its unrivaled franchise power through Marvel, Lucasfilm, Disney and Pixar, as well as the unique mining of its animated legacy. And, in highlighting its social relevance, the emphasis was on diversity and unity in conquering prejudice and hate.

On Friday, the Expo was ecstatic over the hilarious clip of Vanellope (Sarah Silverman) getting snarky with all of the Disney princesses in “Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2” (November 21, 2018) — the ultimate Mouse House strut.
