About the Women's Leadership Committee

In 2007, a small group of dynamic women formed the Women’s Leadership Committee of the Trust for the National Mall.  Since the Committee’s first benefit luncheon in a small tent on the National Mall, this exceptional group has actively advocated to restore the prestige and attention our National Mall deserves.

Looking across the National Mall today, the indelible impact of the Women's Leadership Committee is evident. Standing on the front lines of the fundraising efforts since the inception of the organization, the Committee has contributed time and dedication to notable improvement on the National Mall, including support of repairs to the Washington Monument following the 2011 earthquake, the restoration of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool and the replacement of 18 acres of lush, green turf lining the Mall.

The Women’s Leadership Committee enables progress by investing in the Trust’s ongoing work to — provide heightened visibility and awareness for the significant needs on the National Mall, steward private support and advocate for Federal Funds for critical capital improvements and deliver active project management that designs modern solutions to improve the visitor experience.
