Bend loses a good one in Chase Lettenmaier, who threw for 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns last season. Craven said the most likely player to replace Lettenmaier is Cooper Simmonds, a 5-9 junior who threw two passes last season.

Hermiston has the makings of something special for a couple years as junior Andrew James returns. As a sophomore, the 5-10 James ran for 700 yards and passed for 2,000 and earned second team all-Special District 1 honors.
