 Laurel L. Haak, Executive Director. Laure drives awareness of the ORCID mission, building strategic relationships, working with a broad range of constituents, ensuring organizational persistence, and directing ORCID staff and contractors. Previously, Laure was Chief Science Officer at Discovery Logic, Inc.; a program officer for the US National Academies' Committee on Science, Engineering, and Public Policy; and editor of Science's Next Wave Postdoc Network at the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Laure received a BS and an MS in Biology from Stanford University and a PhD in Neuroscience in 1997 from Stanford University Medical School, and she was a postdoc at the US National Institutes of Health. |
 Josh Brown, Director, Partnerships. Josh works with stakeholders, with a focus on research funders and our partners, to support understanding and engagement, and promote adoption of ORCID. He directs the operations of ORCID EU, leading the ORCID contribution to the THOR Project. He was previously the ORCID Regional Director in Europe. Before ORCID, Josh was consortium and operations manager for SCOAP3, programme manager for digital infrastructure at Jisc, project offer for SHERPA-LEAP at University College London, and held positions in the library at the University of Brighton and the University of Sussex. He earned an MA in Information Management from the University of Brighton and a BA in Philosophy and English from the University of Sussex. |
 Matthew Buys, Regional Director, Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA). Matthew builds strategic relationships with key institutions and governments across the EMEA region to promote the application of ORCID in the research and innovation process. Previously, Matthew worked at Thomson Reuters covering the Eastern and Southern Africa region; and prior to that was the Regional Sales Manager at EBSCO Information Services. He completed a BA (Psychology) and Post-Graduate Diploma in Management at the University of the Witwatersrand. Matthew has also completed courses in Java, Flash, XML, html, Perl, and SQL. |
 Manuel Calvo, UX Developer. Manuel has more than 7 years of experience working as web developer. He studied at Universidad de Costa Rica, and has worked developing web solutions for important brands like OnStar, Bank of America, Merck, Deloitte and Sonnet. His main area of expertise is front-end and he is passionate about learning new frameworks to improve the user experience and development process. He has also has experience developing accessible websites to comply with the WCGA guidelines. On his free time he enjoys reading, writing, going to the movie theater and going on bike rides. He also likes to help on different social causes. |
 Ana Patricia Cardoso, Community Team Specialist, Latin America. Ana provides coaching to support technical integrations by members and ensures that members receive excellent support in the use of the ORCID Registry. Prior to joining ORCID, Ana held several positions in financial areas for companies such as KPMG, Deutsche Bank and AXA Assistance. She also worked for IT department at Tyco-ADT. She is fluent in Spanish, English, French and is currently studying Portuguese. She has a BS in Accounting from the Universidad Panamericana in Mexico and an MBA in High Tech and Industrial Companies Management as an awarded student from Fundación Carolina at the Universidad Antonio de Nebrija in Spain. |
 Ade Deane-Pratt, Technical Analyst, THOR Project. Ade is researching and analyzing persistent identifier infrastructure as part of the EC-funded Technical and Human Infrastructure for Research (THOR) project. She joins ORCID following a decade working largely in science communication at non-profit medical research organizations in the UK. Ade has a BSc in Cognitive Science (first class honours) from the University of Westminster and an MSc in Neuroscience from University College London. She has lectured in human-computer interaction and is the author of children’s science book series How Things Work. |
 Paula Demain, Community Team Specialist, Europe. Paula is responsible for articulating and anchoring our core messaging and providing support for members in their use of the API via the ORCID help desk, as well as through documentation, training, and presentations. Previously, Paula worked for John Wiley and Sons, Ltd as Business Process and Support Manager, a global role with responsibility for the journal subscription and membership services systems and process support. |
 Tom Demeranville, Senior Technical Officer, THOR Project. Tom investigates and develops links with other identifier systems as part of the EC-funded THOR project. Tom has a long history of working with software in the academic sector. Before joining ORCID he was employed by the British Library as a Technical Lead on the ODIN project and prior to that he was a Senior Software Engineer working on federated identity at Eduserv. Tom has a first class honours degree in Software Engineering from the Open University. |

 Maaike Duine, Events and Training Officer, THOR project. Maaike is organizing events and workshops for the EC funded THOR (Technical and Human infrastructure for Open Research) project. Before joining ORCID, she worked in Dar es Salaam as the publishing advisor for the two-year project “Strengthening academic and digital publishing in Tanzania” with INASP, VSO, COSTECH, the Elsevier Foundation, PATA, and BAMVITA as partners. Prior to that, she held different positions for the international publishing company Springer SBM. She earned an MA in linguistics from the University of Utrecht, the Netherlands.

 Padma Gopinath, Bookkeeper. Padma supports the finance and accounting functions of ORCID by maintaining books, preparing financial reports and assisting with audits. Padma has 10 years of experience in managing accounting functions. During that period, she has worked extensively for non-profit agencies dealing with humanitarian, cultural and social causes. She has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of Madras, India and an Honors Diploma in computer applications.

 Stephanie Harley, Events Coordinator. Stephanie supports and streamlines ORCID’s international outreach, workshops, and conferences. Before joining ORCID, she was the International Program Associate at the Council of American Ambassadors. Prior to that, Stephanie served as a research analyst in governmental and political organizations. She graduated from Villanova University with honors and majored in Political Science.

 Ana Heredia, Regional Director, Latin America. Ana is responsible for driving ORCID awareness, promoting adoption and engagement, and building strategic relationships with the government, academic, and publishing communities in Latin America. Previously Ana worked with the publisher Elsevier as a research solutions consultant and a scientific journals publisher. She received a BS in Biology and an MS in Neuroscience from Université Paul Sabatier as well as a PhD in Sciences from Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium), and she was a postdoc researcher at Embrapa and UECE (Brazil). |
 Sarah Hershberger, Operations Manager. Sarah manages all aspects of our back office operations including financial management, human resource management, internal information infrastructure, and coordination of international activities. Prior to joining ORCID, Sarah served as the Director of Finance Administration for a California-based non-profit, and prior to that she was a Business Manager for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She has focused her career on supporting mission-driven organizations and more recently she completed a short term assignment with Peace Corps Swaziland. She has her BS in Psychology from the Pennsylvania State University and received her MBA from Boston College with a concentration in operations management. |
 Jason Hu, Regional Director, China. Jason builds strategic relationships with stakeholders in China, to promote the adoption and application of ORCID in the research and innovation community. Prior to joining ORCID, Jason has been working at Wiley, with numerous responsibilities including Publishing Development, Strategy & Insights, and Journal Management. He currently serves as a Council Member of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics). Jason earned a Master degree of Engineering from Wuhan University; he is pursuing an Executive MBA degree at University of Chicago Booth School of Business. In his spare time, Jason likes to take portrait photography. |
 Liz Krznarich, Tech Lead, Front End Development. Liz specializes in front end technologies (HTML, CSS, Javascript), user interface design, and PHP-based content management systems (Drupal, Wordpress), and she takes the lead on the ORCID website and registry user experience. Liz is experienced in design, web development, technology training and academic libraries, and previously worked at the University of Wisconsin and Food Concepts, Inc. Liz earned a BS in Graphic Design and a Master's in Library & Information Science from the University of Wisconsin. |
 Alice Meadows, Director, Community Engagement and Support. Alice develops and implements our communications plan and leads our support services team. Her primary role is to broaden awareness of the organization and its services and programs, and to support adoption by key stakeholders and audiences. She is in charge of our publications, social media strategy, our Ambassadors program, and leads the member services team in ensuring we maintain our high standards in help desk and API support, and also develop documentation and tools that include both the technology and communications components needed to implement ORCID. Previously, Alice served in multiple posts at John Wiley & Sons, most recently as Director of Communications. Alice earned a BSc with Honors in Anthropology from University College London. |
 Gabriela Mejias, Community Team Specialist, Global. Gabriela is responsible for providing technical coaching and support to ORCID members. Before joining ORCID, she worked in the fields of recruiting, social media, marketing, and operations training. She has a five-year degree in Social Communication from the University of Buenos Aires. She speaks Spanish, English, German, French and basic Italian. |
 Nobuko Miyairi, Regional Director, Asia Pacific. Nobuko builds relationships with stakeholders across Asia Pacific to expand ORCID adoption and awareness in the research community. Prior to joining ORCID, Nobuko held positions at Thomson Reuters and Nature Publishing Group, where she worked closely with research organizations, government policy makers and funding bodies to provide research management solutions. A librarian by training, Nobuko earned an MLIS from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and brings an extensive working knowledge in needs-based consultancy and information management. |
 Angel Montenegro, Software Architect. As part of our Open Source Team, Angel is in charge of supporting existing ORCID infrastructure, helping the member services team in tech-related issues, and building new features for the ORCID registry. Angel has a BS in Computer Science from the University of Costa Rica and is fluent in Spanish and English. |

 George Nash, Senior Software Developer. George joined the team in 2016 having worked as a developer across a variety of industries including finance, retail, telecoms, media, and publishing, specialising in Java development. He studied Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Sussex, graduating in 2005, and now splits his time between the UK and Barcelona. George enjoys football, films, and travelling in his spare time and plays a lot of chess. He once wrote an email based chess app and may or may not one day make it into a website...

 Eric Olson, Community Team Specialist, United States. Eric supports ORCID members as they develop new and existing integrations and workflows. Before joining ORCID, Eric worked on the PressForward publishing software at the Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media, where he recruited and trained research organizations to utilize PressForward and responsible scholarly communication on the web. His other projects include organizing scholarly and science communication communities, the development of curricula for the new field of history communication, and conferences on the benefits of science and humanities convergence. Eric received a BA in Communication from George Mason University and a MA in Communication from Virginia Tech.

 Laura Paglione, Director, Strategic Initiatives. Laura makes sure ORCID is thinking ahead. She engages with the ORCID community to explore how we can meet community needs in the service of our mission, and translates these objectives into actionable requirements. Laura previously served as ORCID’s technical director. Prior to ORCID, she was a Director at the Kauffman Foundation, held positions at Ford Motor Company and Avid Technology and several start-up companies. Laura earned an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management, a ScM in Computer Science at Brown University, and a BE from Stevens Institute of Technology.

 Jeffrey Perez, QA & Server Automation Engineer. Jeffrey specializes in server management, keeping software and services up and running, and has more than 10 years of Linux experience. He is also a software developer with experience in PHP, Java and many front-end technologies. Jeffrey has a BS in computer Science from the University of Costa Rica and is fluent in Spanish and English. |
 Rob Peters, Director, Technology. Rob leads the day-to-day management of software development at ORCID and is responsible for implementing our technical strategic plan. He manages our technology stack (Java/PostgreSQL) and agile development processes, and ensures that our technology infrastructure is stable and scalable to support Registry growth, all while making large code contributions across every level of the stack. He has held CTO, software architect, and engineering positions with large-scale Fortune 500 companies and Silicon Valley startups, including Enloop, Credit.com, and TransUnion. Rob has an AS in Mathematics from Reedley Community College and studied computer science at Cal Poly. |
 Will Simpson, Tech Lead, Back End Development. Will is a hands-on developer who focuses on Java programming, Spring technologies, and the SOLR search engine. Previously, he worked for John Wiley & Sons Ltd on their content management systems, and for Semantico Ltd creating DawsonEra, the largest supplier of electronic books to academic libraries in the UK. Will graduated in 2000 with a first class honours degree in Physics from University College London, having worked on numerical simulation software for his final year research project, and is also a qualified teacher of English as a foreign language. |
 Joseph Schwarze, Privacy Specialist. Joe is working with the newly developed ORCID TRUST program, bringing further security and privacy expertise to the organization. Before joining ORCID, Joe was a security analyst. Joe was a crucial member in developing an organizational security and privacy program from the ground up into a fully matured program. Some notable projects were implementing a successful SSAE16 SOC2 type 2 audit (with 0 findings), developing industry standard security response documents (SIG and CAIQ), providing remediation project plans for application penetration tests, developing a corporate security awareness program, and acting as the expert on European Privacy regulation (GDPR and Privacy Shield). Joe holds a bachelors of science in Cybersecurity from Stevens Institute of Technology. |
 Laura J. Wilkinson, Education and Outreach Specialist. Laura leads on organizing and developing ORCID's education and outreach resources. Before joining ORCID, Laura was an academic librarian at several universities in the UK, in roles ranging from law librarian to electronic resources management. And before that, she was a science teacher. Laura speaks English, (Belgian) French, and Spanish. She is a member of UKSG Committee, and has an honours degree in Physiological Sciences, a PGCE teaching qualification, and an MA in Information and Library Management. |
 Catalina Wilmers, Tech Lead, Quality Assurance. Catalina develops and manages testing plans for ORCID and is the go-to person for escalated (Tier 2) API support issues. Before joining ORCID Catalina worked as an academic librarian and archivist, where she enjoyed digitizing all sorts of things. In her free time she travels the world and reads B-list classical novels. Catalina earned a BA in History and Masters in Information Science from the University of Michigan. |
 Douglas Wright, Director, Membership. Doug builds our global engagement capacity, managing our team of Regional Directors tasked with growing membership and adoption through regional workshops. He collaborates with the communications and support and technical operations teams to ensure our members have the implementation tools they need. Prior to joining ORCID, Doug served as Director of the PCG Division and Chief Marketing Officer at Publishing Technology. He brings to ORCID a great deal of experience working with scholarly publishers as well as his global network of library and consortia contracts. Doug received a BA in Communications at the University of Alabama, and is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and English. |
 Alainna Therese Wrigley, Senior Community Team Specialist, Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa. Alainna works with ORCID members as they integrate with the ORCID registry; leads Community driven projects; administers ORCID's member-facing documentation and communications; and manages ORCID's translation projects. She has held various roles in academic, non-profit, and commercial legal environments in the greater China region, with a focus on communications and public law. An infrequent translator whose work has been exhibited at the Nobel Museum, Alainna speaks English, Mandarin, French, and Japanese and reads others in addition. |

Prior to ORCID, Ana Vera worked at the American Meteorological Society supporting editors and chief editors throughout the peer review process. She has a 5 year degree in Architecture and Urban Planning from the University of São Paulo, Brazil, and speaks Portuguese, English, French, Spanish, and some Italian. |
