The focus of research at the Faculty of Management is on management, decision-making and participation in a changing and networked society. This overall theme is explored from the perspectives of administration, business, politics and economics. Studies

Faculty of Management combines three fields of study: Administrative Sciences, Business Studies and Politics. We are determined to cross boarders both in teaching and research. We educate young professionals who are able to understand the continuously changing world and are willing to change it.

Degree Programmes

Faculty of Management is among the largest faculties in the University of Tampere. It consists of three closely affiliated degree programmes: Administrative Studies, Business Studies, and Politics.

All three degree programmes are further divided into bachelor’s and master’s level studies. On the bachelor’s degree level students are introduced to the academic field through a wide-ranging combination of academic subject areas. The contents of the bachelor’s degree programmes are produced by these subject areas that further forms the specialisation options students have in their master’s degree.

In their master’s degree studies students choose one of the specialisation options introduced to them on the bachelor’s degree level. Specialisation options in the three degree programmes are listed below:

Exchange Studies

Exchange students are accepted on the basis of the Erasmus agreements signed in the respective fields of study (Administrative Studies, Business Studies, Politics), as well as on the basis of the bilateral agreements between the University of Tampere and the applicant's home university.

The Research and Education Centre Synergos operates as a part of the Faculty of Management. Synergos is a service unit aiming to promote customer-oriented business competence of high standard both in the private and the public sector and in their mutual collaboration. Synergos is engaged in research projects, training, education projects and development projects.

Faculty

Faculty of Management is an academic research and education unit operating in the areas of Politics, Business and Administrative Sciences. It is a large community with 3,500 students and more than 200 staff members, including 40 professors.

Faculty of Management provides students with a learning environment that enables them to fundamentally understand tomorrow’s world that is in the making from multiple perspectives. We seek novel ways to lead, govern and study across boundaries.
