Computer Sciences

There are three Master's degree programmes given in English in Computer Sciences. In order to participate in their course units, exchange students need to have the course unit prerequisites, which vary from course unit to course unit.
The Master's degree programme in Human-Technology Interactive (now in the Faculty of Communication Sciences) is interdisciplinary but still requires some background in Computer Science. The Master's degree programme in Software Development and the Master's degree programme in Computational Big Data Analytics require a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
In addition to the Master level course units, there are some introductory and Bachelor level course units taught in English. The range of course units taught in English changes yearly.

Information Studies and Interactive Media

In Information Studies and Interactive Media course units are taught in English especially in the Master’s degree programme in Internet and Game Studies. Priority to these course units is given to degree students in Internet and Game Studies as well as in Information Studies and Interactive Media. Exchange students may attend these course units if there is room.

Mathematics and Statistics

- Credits: 5-10 ECTS / course unit

Important research areas in Mathematics are algebraic geometry, logic, number theory, and linear algebra. In Statistics the main research areas include linear models, multivariate analysis, time series analysis, and statistical computing.
One Master degree programme is offered in English: the Master's degree programme in Computational Big Data Analytics educates top-level experts in computational and statistical data analysis. A solid background in Statistics on Bachelor level is needed.
