The initial breakout was without a doubt miserable! I could not do anything without burning, pain, and exhaustion. It lasted for about three weeks. After that, about twice a year, I would get a breakout in the same place and it was usually just one sore. Then, out of the blue, I got another breakout 20 years later that was just as painful as the first time. I went back to the doctor and he said my immune system was down and that was why. He did another test to make sure, and it was positive. So, my summary and advice is take it seriously!.
