International Experience and Technical Assistance (IETA) Program

Are you looking for an outstanding opportunity to gain experience in international public health work? Then, the International Experience and Technical Assistance (IETA) training program may be for you!

IETA is now officially recruiting for its 2017 – 2018 Cohort 19. See details regarding our upcoming information sessions below. Please submit your application by Friday, July 7, 2017.

The International Experience and Technical Assistance (IETA) program is a developmental training program for Federal public health employees offered by the Center for Global Health (CGH) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia. Specifically, IETA is a professional development/technical assistance program that takes place over a 12-month period. It consists of attendance at three (3) workshops in Atlanta, Georgia (3-4 days each) and a supervised short-term (12-week minimum) overseas assignment with an international public health program. All cohort participants serve overseas between January and August in one of the 50-plus countries where CDC has an overseas presence.

To find out more about the program, please review the following information:

If there are any questions about the program, you are welcome to send an e-mail to ieta@cdc.gov or contact the Program Manager at (404) 718-8874.
