Degree Partnerships with Western Michigan University: JD/MBA | JD/MPA | JD/MSW

Admission Requirements

Prospective students must apply to Cooley and Western Michigan University independently and be admitted according to each school's admission criteria. Prospective students should review all application requirements on the Cooley website and the Western Michigan University website at:

Overview

Many attorneys want business skills. Similarly, many business executives want a deeper knowledge of the law. Individuals holding both a law degree and an MBA have a career edge over those with just a single degree.

Cooley supplies students with the substantive knowledge, legal skills, and ethics needed for bar examinations. Students acquire an ethical framework that will guide them throughout their professional career. The curriculum prepares students for a successful entrance into the practice of law and places students in a position to excel in further graduate studies.

JD/MBA

Western Michigan University's MBA program employs a cross-functional approach that will help the student develop the skills and abilities to make and execute decisions in a dynamic marketplace, learn to manage change, and hone the ability to think critically in challenging situations. Western Michigan University's MBA program is nationally accredited by the AACSB.

JD/MPA

If you see yourself in a leadership role from serving the public through policy-making to running a health care or nonprofit organization, the clear track to success is through a joint degree in public administration and the law.

Western Michigan University and Cooley offer a joint degree program that permits students to acquire the new knowledge and skills, and expedites completion of the requirements for both the MPA degree and the JD degree by eliminating duplicative course work.
