About

Welcome to Mercy College of Ohio! As the President of Mercy College and on behalf of college administration, faculty, staff, and students, it is my pleasure to share the rich heritage of the College and the vision for the future.

Mercy College, located in Toledo, Ohio, is a private Catholic institution of higher learning with a focus on healthcare education. Tracing its heritage to the school of nursing founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1918, Mercy College of Ohio was incorporated in 1992 and offers certificate programs, and associate and baccalaureate degree programs. In 2002, the College expanded to Youngstown, Ohio where an associate of science degree in nursing and a certificate in Ophthalmic Technology are offered. The College has experienced an enrollment increase over the past ten years growing from approximately 800 students in 2005 to 1243 students in 2015.

The faculty and staff seek to inspire students to a commitment of lifelong learning and social responsibility in the spirit of the Mercy heritage and values. The College is committed to providing all students with a high quality education that prepares them for their respective professions with curricula built on a solid liberal arts foundation.

Exciting things are underway at Mercy College with many college constituencies engaged in developing the 2016-2020 strategic plan. The theme for the new plan is, “Transforming Healthcare Education-One Student at a Time.” A centennial celebration is being planned for 2018 as the College marks 100 years of making a difference in the lives of students. New programs at the undergraduate and graduate level are in development to meet the needs of the changing healthcare environment. The College is preparing students to serve and lead in new healthcare delivery models.
