Fees and finance

All course fees can be found on the relevant course page under the 'Fees and finance' section.

For further information about undergraduate fees, please visit our undergraduate fees and finance information pages.

More details about postgraduate fees can be found on our postgraduate fees and funding page.

Our tuition fees cover the cost of delivering your course and are payable annually. For some courses there may be additional costs incurred during your studies.

Undergraduate funding (2017/18)

The majority of undergraduate funding comes from the Student Loans Company and is assessed by your funding authority:

Eligible Undergraduate students can apply for a Tuition Fee Loan of up to £9,250 to cover the full cost of their annual tuition fees.

Maintenance Loan (for living costs) of up to £8,430 is also available. This can be used to pay for general living costs, accommodation, travel and other course related costs.

This simple online calculator will give you an accurate idea of what level of student funding you will be eligible for.

Repaying loans

You won't start repaying your student loans for fees and living costs until you've finished studying and you're earning over £21,000 a year.

Part-time study

If you’re a new part-time student you can apply now for a Tuition Fee Loan. The maximum Tuition Fee Loan you can get if you’re a part-time student is £6,935.

The amount you get depends on the cost of your tuition fees and not on your household income. The Tuition Fee Loan is paid directly to your university or college.

For more information and downloadable guides, visit the Directgov website.

Postgraduate funding

From 2016/17, the Government will provide a loan of up to £10,000 per student for postgraduate Master’s study.

Postgraduate Loan (PGL) for Master’s study will be:

  • A contribution towards the costs of study, i.e. it will be at the student’s discretion to use the loan towards fees, maintenance costs or other costs;
  • Non-means tested;
  • Paid directly to the student into a UK bank account.
