About

I'm a barrister specialising in family law based in Nottingham, and I'm also an associate lecturer for Derby Law School – I take the module on child protection.

Qualifications

  • LLB (Hons): First Class – University of Derby, 2008
  • Bar Vocational Course: Very Competent – College of Law, 2009
  • Inner Temple Major Exhibition and Duke of Edinburgh Entrance Award, 2009

Additional interests and activities

Natalie also undertakes cases on behalf of the Bar Pro Bono Unit and is also a mentor with the Young Legal Aid Lawyer’s Group.

Experience in industry

I work in all areas of family law, including private and public law children matters, injunctive relief and financial disputes.

I am regularly instructed in care proceedings, representing the local authority, parents and children. My experience in such cases includes non-accidental injuries, allegations of sexual abuse, as well as matters surrounding neglect, domestic abuse, drug and alcohol misuse.

I also undertake work in private law children matters and cases requiring injunctive relief, often representing clients at urgent hearings.

Before being called to the Bar, I worked as a specialist family law paralegal for two years, managing my own caseload in both public and private law children matters. During this time, I was also appointed as a special constable with West Midlands Police Force.
