Created and written by Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij (The East), the latest Netflix original delves into the inexplicable reappearance of Prairie Johnson (Marling). Having gone missing seven years ago, the previously blind Johnson returns home, now in her 20s and with her sight restored. While many believe she is miracle, others worry that she could be dangerous.
While I agree that the start of the series feels a bit slow, the story unfolds into a truly magnificent masterpiece.
The ending is haunting.
This is not a stereotypical story with predictable plots. It is not a big bang, laugh a minute or utterly over manufactured piece of Hollywood rubbish. It is not DC comic dreary and dreadful.
So if you are keen on something a bit unusual and thought provoking then you may be well served sticking through the boring and slower bits until the end, and then make up your own mind.
The acting is superbly portrayed.
There are loads of holes in the story, but overhlook this and don't expect much. Let yourself be surprised. Relax and just enjoy.
