Beta Iota History

During his term as Grand Sire Archon (1978-1980), the late Archon Harvey Russell came to Hartford, Connecticut, to speak with a select group of men about setting up a local boulé  in Waterbury. Archon Russell noted that the group, which had been organized by Archons Theodore Pryor, David Thompson, and Bill Graham of Alpha Psi Boulé in Hartford, was further advantaged in having their wives as significant partners in the planning of their activities. When Beta Iota was finally chartered in 1981, the by-laws of the new boulé  indicated that its Archons would entertain their Archousai at least four times annually and at any additional time that the spirit so moved them. Beta Iota is proud that after twenty-two years as a boulé , it continues to adhere to the commitment made by its charter members.
