The Buzz: Writer Dave Eggers is known for his seductive stories of virtuous loners taking on evil systems. The Circle is a high-tech, big-budget version of the wonted Eggers fable. This is a movie very much of our moment, tapping into the things we celebrate - inspiring Ted-esque talks, women in tech, knowledge sharing - as well as the things we fear - corporate overreach, universal surveillance, and the loss of privacy and individual freedom. - Kiran

The Buzz: I'm unsure if I'll be charmed or duped by this Jason Blum-backed indie drama that flirts with the superhero world and features well-received performances by Jacob Latimore and Dulé Hill. I do know that I tend to gravitate toward under-the-radar movies that have mixed reviews, and Sleight has them to spare. Also, director J.D. Dillard has been eyed to potentially handle the long-gestating remake of The Fly as this movie has generated some attention. - Arno

The Buzz: We're totally going to watch this movie despite the fact that story-wise it doesn't feel as contemporary as it could; instead, it reminds us of the Jenny/Marina situation from the first season of "The L Word" -- and that was 13 years ago now.
