The Mindy Project will be completed: Season six will be the show's last. Mindy Kaling and Hulu announced the upcoming sixth season will be the last. "I mean this half-jokingly, but at a certain point it was like, I think she's dated every man in Manhattan. Sex and the City lasted for, what, six seasons with 10 episodes each? I don't know that there's been a show about a woman trying to find love in New York City that has lasted quite this long. And frankly, there's no more actors in Hollywood left to date," Kaling told EW about the decision to end the comedy. "That's my joking answer. But the thing about these characters, especially this past season, is that we've really gotten »

Guy Builds a Legend of Zelda Barrel Arcade Machine

Remember those awesome cocktail table Pacman games from back in the day?  I used to play those as a kid whenever I saw one.  They usually appeared randomly in places like a diner while my family was driving really far to go on a trip.  Honestly they would just show up out of nowhere and I had to play them.  The other game on the system was Galaga.  I was always more fond of Pacman but just the experience of getting to sit down to play one of these things was such a treat. Speaking of treats, I just came

Ellen Pompeo’s Talks About Her “Eye-Opening” Grey’s Anatomy Directorial Debut

2 hours ago | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

Ellen Pompeo felt some pressure stepping behind the camera for the first time on her thirteen years on Grey’s Anatomy, but not the kind you would think. At a recent panel at Paleyfest, the actress talked about taking her turn in the director’s chair, the universal, emotional relevance that has kept Grey’s Anatomy running strong all these years, and the costar who mentored her through the daunting episode she directed. You would think Pompeo would have felt some pressure being in charge of an episode for the first time, but that wasn’t the case. “I wasn’t really afraid of anything,”

War for the Planet of the Apes New Poster and Trailer

2 hours ago | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

I don’t know about you guys but I’m kind of psyched for War for Planet of the Apes.  I really like the evolution of Caesar and his voice happens to be amazing.  This new poster is pretty chilling as is the new trailer.  Woody Harrelson looks like a total lunatic and frankly I’m digging it.  I do have a question though.  Who in the world is that kid in the poster and is this child on Caesar’s side or the “human” side? From the looks of the trailer she’s clearly on team Ape.  I wonder if it’s Woody Harrelson’s daughter.

Grey’s Anatomy Review: Maggie’s Everlasting Grace

If you were looking for the gut punch of the season on Grey’s Anatomy, I’m sorry to say the “Japril the Sequel” episode was not it. Not that that wasn’t a truly wonderful, introspective hour for Jackson Avery, but it had more satisfactory closure. The all too real tear-worthy moments were waiting in Ellen Pompeo’s directorial debut, which was a Tour de Force for Kelly McCreary. She delivered an unforgettable, raw performance as Maggie Pierce came to terms with the struggle, despair, and even beauty that comes with dying. Maggie’s adoptive mother Diane has been sick for some time now,

Luc Besson Shares Amazing Inside Stories about All His Movies in “Ama” Reddit Session

Luc Besson is far and away one of my favorite directors in movies.  Ever since I saw The Professional I fell in love with not only his directing style but also his haunting use of music.  Besson doesn’t just think of stories and characters.  He also thinks of emotionally bringing a movie from scene to scene with sound just as much as he does visuals.  And it’s not like he doesn’t focus on the visuals.  Besson is the total package. Which is why I was pretty psyched to see him answer a ton of fan questions of Reddit yesterday. Here

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Star Ellen Pompeo on Female Directors, Motherhood & Politics

After 13 seasons, “Grey’s Anatomy” star Ellen Pompeo made her directorial debut on this week’s episode of the long-running medical drama.

What took so long? Well, Pompeo is busy.

She’s been at the top of the call sheet on the ABC juggernaut since its premiere in 2005, and she balances leading “Grey’s Anatomy” with her other full time job: being a mother to three young children at home.

“I’m already there really a lot of hours. Directing is even more hours. The idea of spending more time there really has never appealed to me. So basically that’s it,” Pompeo tells Variety when asked why she waited until the middle of Season 13 to sit in the director’s chair. She adds, “As far as creativity on ‘Grey’s,’ you’re kind of trapped in a hospital and there’s only so much you can do, so I wasn’t that excited about it creatively »
