The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) is a learned society in the United Kingdom with the goal of "advancing the chemical sciences". They publish a variety of scientific journals across all fields of chemical research. They have generously offered the use of 100 accounts to access all of the electronic resources available through RSC Gold ([1]), which include ebooks and journals. All initial accounts will be issued for a full year. The donation is part of the RSC's Wikimedian in Residence project; here is their announcement.

Further participation[edit]

You can help The Wikipedia Library share this partnership:

  • Add {{Wikipedia:RSC Gold/Userbox}} to your user boxes. This helps us share our project with other experienced users.
RSC Gold This user has access to RSC Gold through The Wikipedia Library
  • Add your ORCID identifier to your user page; see WP:ORCID
  • TWL is interested in having guest bloggers. Guest blogging gives the opportunity for both The Wikipedia Library and RSC to profile our partnership, and it gives the guest bloggers a new platform to share their editing experience with others (which is good for the Wikimedia community).

Applications[edit]

Add yourself at the bottom of the list with a line starting with #{{user8|USERNAME|Project=code}} (eg. #{{user8|Example|Project=en}} followed by an explanation of why you believe the access would be beneficial to you. It is a good idea to include in your application text: your depth of experience with Wikipedia and other WM projects, your editing areas benefited by access, and examples of your commitment to content creation.
  1. Schlosser67 (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I would appreciate access to the RSC resources in order to be able to better edit articles on scientific, in particular mineralogical topics. Approved
  2. Dcirovic (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) Thank you for setting up access to the RSC journals. I have been involved with several Wikipedia projects since 2010. My contributions are primarily concerned with chemistry and biology. Having access to some of these journals would make me more productive. --Dcirovic (talk) 23:55, 23 March 2016 (UTC) Approved
  3. Sandbh (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I've previously had access to an RSC Gold account however my access appears to have expired. I'm currently working on Heavy metal (chemical element), which is at WP:FAC and, in this context, would like to be able to check some RSC journal articles. Thank you.
