  1. Chuangzu (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I am an active Wikipedia editor since 2006 and I am researching a court case involving the high court in London for inclusion in the Wikipedia article on Chee Soo.Chuangzu (talk) 17:29, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
    @Chuangzu: Do you plan to use HeinOnline for just this one high court case or do you plan to use it to expand other articles as well? -Thibbs (talk) 17:36, 10 October 2015 (UTC)
    @Thibbs: I am concentrating on this particular page at the moment, I have no fixed plans for my next contribution at the moment. I tend to browse articles and update or create new ones when I feel it's appropriate rather than plan out a particular course. I intend to use this resource for future contributions.Chuangzu (talk) 11:19, 11 October 2015 (UTC)
    @Chuangzu: Pending Due to the limited number of available accounts, and the general nature of the need for this resource, it is best if we revisit this application later if there are accounts left over. Regarding the London high court case, it may be a good idea to ask at WP:RX if you have any specific sources that you need. -Thibbs (talk) 03:41, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
    @Chuangzu: We have recently freed up a number of HeinOnline accounts for Wikipedia editors to use. Please let me know if you'd like to re-apply and I'll be happy to look it over. -Thibbs (talk) 01:40, 6 September 2016 (UTC)
    @Thibbs:Yes please, I am still interested.Chuangzu (talk) 19:43, 7 September 2016 (UTC)
    @Chuangzu: And just to be clear, is your reason still the same? Are you still intending to use this access to expand the Chee Soo article or do you have another article or topic area that you intend to expand/benefit? -Thibbs (talk) 01:51, 9 September 2016 (UTC)
    @Thibbs:Yes primarily the Chee Soo and Chang Ming articles. However I tend to work in a spontaneous way which means one investigation tends to lead me to work on other pages.
    @Chuangzu: Approved Thanks for your patience. Expect an email within 24 hours with further details. -Thibbs (talk) 12:16, 9 September 2016 (UTC)
    @Thibbs: Thanks Chuangzu (talk) 17:16, 11 September 2016 (UTC)
  2. Golbez (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) - Decade plus, top 1000 editors. I've been told this database may contain information useful to my work on Territorial evolution of the United States, specifically DUSPIL reports on when the United Kingdom claimed certain islands in the Pacific. I imagine it would also be useful when I work on the territorial evolution of other countries, especially Canada and New Zealand. --Golbez (talk) 21:24, 13 June 2016 (UTC)
    @Golbez: Unfortunately the access TWL provides to HeinOnline does not include the DUSPIL reports... However we do provide access to Hein's "History of International Law" collection which includes such subcategories as "War & Peace", "Law of the Sea", "Hague Conference & Conventions", "International Arbitration", "Serials", "Bibliography of Other Works", and "Scholarly Articles". A full list of titles is available here, but it requires access to view... Would you still be interested in access knowing that there would be no direct access to the DUSPIL materials? -Thibbs (talk) 03:41, 14 June 2016 (UTC)
  3. DeRossitt (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I have been a major contributor on the work related to the Critical Legal Studies movement, particularly the work of Roberto Mangabeira Unger, and I have started the articles on the majority of his individual works (most of the articles in this category were started by me and mostly written by me) as well as contributing substantially to the Critical Legal Studies article. I am also working on an article on one of the foremost U.S. state appellate judges, Charles Doe (currently a draft in my userspace). Access to this resource would help with this work. Thank you. - DeRossitt (talk) 16:50, 31 August 2016 (UTC)
    @DeRossitt: We do have a fair amount of material on CLS in the database, so this seems like a good match for your interests, but it also looks like you have only made 3 edits at Wikipedia in the last 2 months. Do you anticipate an increased rate of editing in the coming months? -Thibbs (talk) 16:15, 2 September 2016 (UTC)
    @Thibbs: Yes, I do. If you review my work over the last year, I've made hundreds of edits, but due to extensive research on finishing this article and this one I haven't been making edits. (I have been reading in preparation for edits.) Thanks for your consideration. DeRossitt (talk) 00:46, 6 September 2016 (UTC)
    @DeRossitt: Approved Expect an email within 24 hours with further details. -Thibbs (talk) 01:40, 6 September 2016 (UTC)
  4. Vicedomino (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I have been at Wikipedia since 2009; I have over 12,200 edits, most of them substantive. I am now retired from University teaching and able to work on Wikipedia articles nearly every day. I want to access Hein's on-line collection of the issues of the Bulletin of Medieval Canon Law, which is of importance for my work on medieval cardinals and dioceses of the Catholic Church in France and Italy.--Vicedomino (talk) 06:25, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
    @Vicedomino: Approved Hein's BMCL holdings currently comprise volumes 1 (1971) through 32 (2015). Expect an email shortly with further details. -Thibbs (talk) 04:03, 29 October 2016 (UTC)
  5. NDSteve10 (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I'm a lawyer with a number of contributions to US law-related pages. I'm familiar with the resources available with HeinOnline, and I'd be able to significantly upgrade the quality of a number of articles on Wikipedia through additional citations on appropriate pages. --NDSteve10 (talk) 08:00, 29 November 2016 (UTC)
    @NDSteve10: You meet the minimum requirements for an account, but it also looks like you have made fewer than 50 edits at Wikipedia in the last 3 years. Do you anticipate a similar rate of editing in the coming months? -Thibbs (talk) 04:36, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
    @Thibbs: I'm expecting my contribution rate to increase substantially over the next year. I anticipate adding quality reference sources to law-related articles through HeinOnline. I saw the requirements for this resource, and realized that I met them, so I figured I'd apply. If there are others that need the account, and it's limited beyond the requirements posted, I'm okay with you passing it on to someone else. --NDSteve10 (talk) 07:16, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
    @NDSteve10: Approved Expect an email within 24 hours with further details. -Thibbs (talk) 04:13, 2 December 2016 (UTC)
  6. Kautilya3 (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I am an editor of Wikipedia for about 3 years, active in South Asian politics and history. Access to HeinOnline would be useful for my editing, as some of the crucial sources are available there. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 01:20, 3 February 2017 (UTC)
    @Kautilya3: Approved Expect an email within 24 hours with further details. -Thibbs (talk) 19:29, 3 February 2017 (UTC)
  7. Hmich176 (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I have been an editor on English Wikipedia for over a decade. I have written about a variety of 20th Century topics. In looking through the description of the database, there are sources which would be useful for research. --hmich176 00:35, 9 February 2017 (UTC)
    Sorry for the delay, Hmich176! Your editing history looks good, but the 20th Century is a very broad topic area. Can you explain how this particular resource will be helpful to you? -Thibbs (talk) 04:35, 16 February 2017 (UTC)
    Sure. For example, I've recently been doing research on European companies that were building amusement rides and transportation systems in the United States and Canada in the 1970s and 1980s. After looking through the list of libraries HeinOnline has, I believe there would be useful information in their collection for me to use for citations. --hmich176 18:12, 16 February 2017 (UTC)
    @Hmich176: Would this access be used for just this one project or do you think you might use it for future projects as well? The reason I ask is that for one-time needs (e.g. for situations where you would be interested in access to only a few items from a database), the TWL Resource Request might be a better venue for the request. We can certainly arrange to get you access to the HeinOnline database, but do you believe you would make use of it after obtaining the documents specific to the amusement rides and transportation systems? -Thibbs (talk) 12:33, 17 February 2017 (UTC)
    Yes, I certainly would make use of this resource beyond that particular subject. It would definitely assist in contributing to other legal related articles and subjects, which I have an interest in contributing. --hmich176 20:08, 17 February 2017 (UTC)
    @Hmich176: Approved Expect an email within 24 hours with further details. -Thibbs (talk) 02:40, 18 February 2017 (UTC)
  8. Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) - I have been on the English Wikipedia for over a decade now. I am also a lawyer and contribute to topics relating to Cambodian, Indian and occasionally US law. — Nearly Headless Nick {c} 19:41, 18 February 2017 (UTC)
    @Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington: - You meet the minimum requirements for an account, but it also looks like you have made an average of 2.5 edits per month since July 2013. Do you anticipate a similar rate of editing in the coming months? -Thibbs (talk) 21:14, 18 February 2017 (UTC)
    I do hope to be more active. I have been uploading some legal documents related to Cambodian law on Wikisource lately, and wish to be able to add some WP articles as well (on Cambodian, Indian and other Asian law topics). — Nearly Headless Nick {c} 19:54, 20 February 2017 (UTC)
    @Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington: Ah, sorry I missed that! Can you explain a little more about how you intend to use HeinOnline access at WikiSource? Is the intention to copy documents from HeinOnline to WikiSource or are you planning to use access to provide original content at WikiSource? -Thibbs (talk) 01:18, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
    @Thibbs: I didn't mean to say that I intended to copy documents from HeinOnline onto Wikisource. That would be copyvio. Instead, I intend to continue uploading legal documents (actual, real statutes and regulatory instruments) on to Wikisource, and supplement that effort with producing some content for Wikipedia (wherever I can find suitable sources, e.g. on JSTOR and HeinOnline) and Wikibooks. — Nearly Headless Nick {c} 06:32, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
    @Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington: OK that sounds good. The Terms of Use for HeinOnline can be found here. They apply to copyrighted materials like law review articles and to public domain documents like statutes. Taking this into consideration, do you think that you would be able to make use of HeinOnline at WikiSource in a manner consistent with their user rules? -Thibbs (talk) 11:53, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
    @Thibbs: Yes, I will use HeinOnline in a manner consistent with its terms of use. Materials such as statutes and regulatory instruments will be sourced from elsewhere. — Nearly Headless Nick {c} 03:19, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
    @Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington: Approved Expect an email within 24 hours with further details. -Thibbs (talk) 11:32, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
