How does a regional theater chain stay competitive when ultra-high definition 4K TVs keep getting bigger – and cheaper – and streaming services continue to pop up and give viewers a cornucopia of options? ‘The Zookeeper’s Wife’ Review: Jessica Chastain Saves Polish Jews But Can’t Rescue the Movie

Some tales are remarkable yet true, while others are meaningful yet dull. In “The Zookeeper’s Wife,” a regrettable sense of the latter overtakes the former in telling of the Żabińskis, real-life married Polish animal caretakers who saved hundreds of Jews during their country’s Nazi occupation. “Whale Rider” director Niki Caro’s studiously rendered period epic puts a thickly accented Jessica Chastain front and center as Antonina Żabińska, since Diane Ackerman’s nonfiction book culled its history (and title) from access to Antonina’s diaries. But as refreshing as it is to see a woman in an Oskar Schindler-type »

Anne Frank Center Blasts Tim Allen for ‘Deeply Offensive’ Nazi Germany Comment: ‘Have You Lost Your Mind?’

The Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect demanded an apology from actor Tim Allen after he compared life for Hollywood conservatives to living in “’30s Germany.” That era, of course, was when Adolf Hilter rose to power and the Nazis began their campaign of mass extermination of Jews and many others they deemed undesirable. The Anne Frank Center called Allen’s comparison “deeply offensive” and said it “trivializes the horrors imposed on Jews in Nazi Germany.” The “Last Man Standing actor said on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Friday: “You gotta be real careful around here, you know. You’ll get beat up if. »

Judge Says ‘Duck Dynasty’ Producers Should Be Reinstated at Gurney Productions

A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge ruled that Scott and Deirdre Gurney, the producers behind the reality show “Duck Dynasty,” should be reinstated as the heads of Gurney Productions after it granted their notion for an injunction, but ITV has appealed the ruling. So the Gurneys are still out at their namesake company, following a legal battle wherein parent company ITV America fired them based on fraud claims in Dec. 2016. Update (4:27 p.m.): Since the initial announcement of the judge’s decision, ITV America said it filed an appeal. In the decision, the judge said the Gurneys »

‘Iron Fist': These Season 1 Characters Will Probably Be Bad Guys in Season 2 and Beyond

(Note: This post contains spoilers for “Iron Fist” Season 1.) The trouble with being a superhero like Danny Rand (Finn Jones) in Netflix’s new adaptation of Marvel’s “Iron Fist” is that your friends tend to turn into supervillains. At least a few of the characters we see in Season 1 of  “Iron Fist” won’t always be Danny’s friends, and a few even change sides before the end of the first 13 episodes. When it comes to villains, allegiances can often change based on the situation, but the first season gives some sense of who might wind up being evil and who’s still. »

WWE’s Chris Jericho Tells Us Where He Keeps ‘The List’ and What He Was Actually Writing on It

This afternoon, I took up almost 20 minutes of Chris Jericho’s super-busy Monday, asked him a few borderline-asinine questions, and didn’t even make “The List.” To say I’m disappointed would be an understatement. After all, there is arguably no better WWE accessory this winter than Y2J’s “The List of Jericho,” generally reserved for those the pro wrestling icon labels a “stupid idiot.” Of course, like so many things meant to be insulting to the “Monday Night Raw” crowd, the fans eat it up — and replicas of the prop now sells as official WWE merchandise. Naturally, we had to ask the. »

Mark Hamill Shares Never-Before-Seen ‘Nipple Protector’ Pic From ‘Star Wars: A New Hope’

It’s the photo that the honchos at Lucasfilm never wanted fans to see. A few days after Mark Hamill released what is believed to be the first production photo ever taken of him as Luke Skywalker, he shared another never-before-seen vintage pic of him in costume. And this one was more revealing. A European fan page on Twitter uncovered a production photo of Luke that featured something of a ’70s-era wardrobe malfunction. In the photo, Luke’s robe was left slightly agape, allowing fans to see an undershirt that was not Tatooine attire. One was wondering what was that »

The Blaze has suspended Tomi Lahren for a week after the conservative commentator made pro-choice remarks, the Daily Caller reports, citing multiple sources. The Blaze founder, Glenn Beck, mocked the network’s biggest star earlier on Monday after she mentioned having “moderate, conservative and libertarian views” on Twitter while defending recent pro-choice comments made during an appearance on “The View.” The Daily Caller reported the suspension is for “at least one week,” beginning this evening.
