A complicated rights issue prevented Marvel Studios from introducing Namor to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for many years, but the aquatic anti-hero finally made his debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Narcos actor Tenoch Huerta played the character, who started out as an enemy of Shuri (Letitia Wright), before forming an uneasy alliance with Wakanda's new protector towards the end of the movie.
Last year, Huerta was hit with sexual assault allegations by saxophonist María Elena Ríos, who accused the actor of being a "sexual predator" in a series of Tweets.
The story was picked up and widely circulated online, and Huerta later released a statement (via Variety) categorically denying Rios' claims and calling them “false and completely unsubstantiated.”
“About a year ago, I dated Elena for several months,” Huerta wrote. “It was entirely consensual at all times, as countless others can attest. And throughout it was a loving, warm and mutually supportive relationship.

Even though the move from Fox to ABC was one of the scariest moments for all 9-1-1 fans expecting the worst, it ended up being a blessing in disguise.
From the production value to the realization of fans' most anticipated theories, it was clear from day one how much hope the network was putting into its new procedural.
Now that the show has been renewed for another season, and fans can expect a longer, pre-strike season on their screens, they're speculating that 9-1-1 will be integrated with another show under the ABC umbrella. The Rookie was the title that was mentioned the most in all the conversations.
Is There 9-1-1 and The Rookie Crossover?
While there wasn't an opportunity to do much with the first 9-1-1 season under ABC's tenure, the creators may have a little more fun with the next one. It would be expected to...

“Tuition-free” is becoming the new buzzword, as several of the world’s top drama schools plan to adopt that policy starting this fall, including the graduate programs at Juilliard and USC.
These join a number of existing free programs on The Hollywood Reporter‘s annual list of the best drama schools, as they look to expand accessibility and mitigate the debt many drama students bring into continuing education. It’s a big positive step in a year when many schools have been emerging from the pandemic era of largely online classes and leaning into more inclusive, tech-forward curriculums.
In addition to broadening access to more diverse candidates and wanting to stay competitive with recruitment, the push to go tuition-free at USC was spurred on by the writers and actors strikes. “Just knowing how volatile the industry is for these creatives, it’s extremely important that they not be saddled with...

In September 2021, Olivia Colman bagged her first career Emmy for “The Crown” despite having failed on her Oscar bid for “The Father” five months earlier. This made her the 16th performer to triumph at the Emmys after going home empty-handed at the same year’s Oscars and the fourth to do so during the 21st century. The release of the 2024 Emmy nominations ballots confirmed that nine of the 16 actors who lost at the latest Oscars ceremony are capable of joining Colman on said list.
Gold Derby’s current Emmy odds indicate that the man and woman with the best hopes of following in Colman’s footsteps are Ryan Gosling and Jodie Foster, who just earned their respective third and fifth Academy Award notices for their supporting turns in “Barbie” and “Nyad.” They are now generally expected to share in the experience of being first-time acting Emmy nominees thanks to his...

Ten episodes were not enough for the enormity of 9-1-1 Season 7.
Ten episodes were not enough time to spend with Athena, Maddie, and the 118.
But ten episodes is what we got, and we're going to dive into the season as a whole, which started hot, with a multi-episode emergency that put two mains in serious jeopardy, and then barrelled into the finale equally as hot…with those same two main in serious jeopardy.
Even though things started with a big emergency, the emergencies felt like they were left on the backburner more than ever during this shortened season, with more time spent on character development.
That made for a thoroughly enjoyable season, with the characters always being the heart and soul of the action procedural.
That's not to say the emergencies were non-existent. However, with their limited time, there did seem to be a conscious effort to almost re-introduce...

Miley Cyrus says she wasn’t taken seriously by the Recording Academy until she released her hit song “Flowers,” which earned Cyrus her first-ever Grammy wins for best pop solo performance and record of the year.
Speaking with W magazine, Cyrus reflected on the achievement from earlier this year after releasing music since 2007. “No shade but I’ve been doing this for 20 years, and this is my first time actually being taken seriously at the Grammys?,” she questioned.

Cyrus was previously nominated in 2015 for Bangerz under the best pop vocal album category, but she lost to Sam Smith.

A fire may have completely burned down Bobby and Athena’s (Angela Bassett) house—the enemies he and Amir (Malcolm-Jamal Warner) made a couple episodes ago track them down for revenge—but at least everyone survives. And, after that and a conversation with Amir, Bobby’s realized that his decision to quit the Lafd isn’t the right one. The only problem? Bobby returns to work to find that Gerrard (Brian Thompson)—yes, that awful captain who made the workplace so uncomfortable for Hen (Aisha Hinds) and Chimney (Kenneth Choi) before Nash came along—is now the 118’s captain. According to Gerrard, there are some concerns downtown of a leadership deficit in ...

There wasn't a massive, high-stakes cliffhanger in this finale, but boy, did this final hour leave us with much to think about over the summer.
9-1-1 Season 7 Episode 10 was a fast-paced affair, as they had a lot to fit into a short amount of time, and they did their best to hit every plot point, though you can't help but wonder what could have been if they had more time.
And ultimately, that sentiment feels like the theme of the season.
I must admit that, in my sheer anxiety about Athena and Bobby's well-being and the destruction of the Bathena house fire, I didn't give much thought to what caused the fire.
That was an oversight on my part, but I was in my feelings, okay!
Good thing Athena isn't me because she went into investigation mode the second she figured out that arson was at play. However, the...

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever finally brought Namor the Submariner into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, the character underwent some significant changes, with Atlantis swapped out for Talokan and his origin story rooted in Mayan legend.
While not everyone was happy about that, it went a long way in helping to differentiate Namor from DC's Aquaman.
Thanks to Marvel Studios concept artist Phil Saunders (who has spent the past year working on Disney's Tron: Ares), we have a new look at some sequences which didn't make it into the Black Panther sequel's final cut.
That includes a clash between Ironheart and Namora. "The script originally called for an extended battle between [Riri Williams] and [Namora] that would have taken them underwater," Saunders says. "It was inevitably cut to keep the focus on [Shuri] and [Namor], but gave me the opportunity to paint some dynamic shots."

The Krites -- the titular "Critters" from the eponymous film series -- are small, furry, extraterrestrial eating machines that are essentially dry-land piranhas. Krites only have impulses toward consumption and chaos. They have human intelligence, but are far more interested in eating than philosophy. The first "Critters" movie, directed by Stephen Herek (of "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" and "Mr. Holland's Opus" fame) is one of the world's only Easter-themed horror movies, centering on a small Iowa town that discovers Krite eggs and paints them for the Sunday festivities. Naturally, the eggs hatch and the hungry Krites begin wreaking mayhem. Only a pair of alien bounty hunters named Ug (Terrence Mann) and Lee can help in stopping the alien threat.
The Krites can roll up into balls like hedgehogs and trundle quickly from place to place. They can also fire poisonous quills from their backs. They're mean little mothers.

From Whitney Houston to Elvis, there is no shortage of iconic singers who inspire sweeping films that dramatize their life stories. No matter the genre, cinematic features have captured the careers of the King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley to country singer Jonny Cash. Most recently, Back to Black (2024) launched in theaters to capture the life and musical career of Amy Winehouse.
Still other films in the works will add to the canon of singer biography movies, like Timothée Chalamet’s upcoming portrayal of Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown and nephew to Jaafar Jackson’s portrayal of his uncle the late Michael Jackson in Michael.
We’ve compiled a list of music-centric biopics available to stream should the urge overcome viewers.

While Ryan Coogler’s reputation in Hollywood is quite spectacular, the regard given to him in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is at another level. He helped the franchise get its first two Oscar wins, as well as numerous award nominations, all through the masterpiece that was Black Panther. Arguably one of the best Marvel films to date, the project not only had an excellent director, but it also had some of the most talented people in the industry as a part of its cast and crew.

After the follow-up film, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, it was expected that he would finish the trilogy. However, it would seem that on top of the Wakandan films, he may also be heading one of the most...

You also can’t find it digitally on any platform. This is a perfect example of why you should always hang on to your physical media, as I’m lucky enough to own the now out-of-print DVD of that movie, and while it’s far from an ideal copy, it’s something.
But that got me thinking. What other movies are hard to find? I opened up the forum on Twitter, and I was shocked by how many prominent films aren’t available digitally and have gone out of print on disc, making them all the more precious for collectors. At the same time, there are some happy endings, such as Martin Campbell’s No Escape,...

As the creator and star of one of the most popular and widely quoted comedy sketch shows of all time, Keegan-Michael Key is a brilliant actor, writer, and producer known for his outlandish characters.
However, his comedic chops run the gamut as he has had numerous supporting roles in genres from family to raunchy. Beyond television, he has graced his fair share of movies, and his presence, no matter how brief, always stands out as the scene-stealer that he is.
Having been in the entertainment industry for almost twenty-five years, Key has amassed twenty-three award nominations, including three wins with a Peabody, an American Comedy Award, and an Emmy for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series.
