Karl Lagerfeld should know better than to mess with Miranda Priestly. Academy Award winner Meryl Streep issued a blistering statement regarding a dust-up with the Chanel designer — in which he accused the “Florence Foster Jenkins” star of allegedly turning down a couture gown because she would not receive a fee to wear it at Sunday’s Oscar ceremony. “Karl Lagerfeld, a prominent designer, defamed me, my stylist, and the illustrious designer whose dress I chose to wear, in an important industry publication,” Streep said through a spokesperson on Saturday night.
