Overview[edit]

Founded in 1928, Yakima Valley Community College serves over 10,000 students a year through two campuses located in Yakima and Grandview, as well as learning centers located in Ellensburg, Toppenish and Sunnyside.

Centrally located in Washington, the Yakima River Valley is known for its sunshine, agriculture, outdoor activities and developing wine industry. Culturally and geographically diverse, the YVCC student population includes dual-enrollment high school students (Running Start), high school graduates, those in mid-career seeking job training or continuing education, as well as people learning English and other basic literacy skills.

College programs of study include university transfer in the arts and sciences and degrees in the health sciences and other vocational fields. The college also offers customized training for business and industry. YVCC has been designated by the United States Department of Education as a Hispanic-serving institution. It is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.

The Larson Gallery is operated by the college on its Yakima campus.
