Shailene Woodley done with Divergent

Shailene Woodley is reportedly done with the Divergent series. The franchise is heading to television after three movies, the last being The Divergent Series: Allegiant, which debuted last year. That instalment failed to ignite the box-office, taking just under $180 million worldwide, from a fairly heavy budget.

As a result of the film’s performance, the distributor announced that it would be taking the franchise to television with a TV movie and then a series, but it looks like Woodley has officially passed.

Speaking with Vanity Fair at the premiere of her new HBO miniseries, Big Little Lies, the actress was asked if she was involved, to which she firmly replied ‘No’. The same post alludes to Miles Teller also not returning too. Does this mean a complete reboot/ write off?

There’s no timescale for the TV show, or the movie that will precede it, but we’ll keep you posted. »

Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk review: Dir. Ang Lee (2017)

8 February 2017 12:00 AM, PST

Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk review: Ang Lee goes all-in and take a huge gamble on this commanding, inventive and brave piece of modern filmmaking.

Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk review, Paul Heath, February 2017.

Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk review

It’s an understatement to say that Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk failed to ignite the box-office Stateside when it was released last year. A lot of that could have something to do with the timing, its anti-war message, or maybe director Ang Lee’s format of choice – the mind-bending 3D at 120 frames per second. More on that in a second.

Lee’s first film since the Oscar-winning Life Of Pi revolves around a day in the life of Billy Lynn and his fellow soldiers of Bravo Squad as they attend a Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day football game after returning home from a tour of duty during the Iraq War. »

Theatre Review: Not Dead Enough (UK Tour)

7 February 2017 11:00 PM, PST

Not Dead Enough theatre review: Its because he loves you with deadly consequences.

Not Dead Enough theatre review by Katey Thompson, February 2017.

Peter James is a well known murder mystery author who is great at a writing an intriguing, intense who-dunnit that keeps the reader guessing from start to finish.  In this play the suspense is slow to build and that suspense and tension remained throughout the entire production.

The play opens with the murder of the socialite Katie Bishop; could her husband Brian Bishop who was 60 miles away at the time be responsible? It is the task of DS Roy Grace to determine if he has the correct suspect.  Shane Ritchie is a credible detective quite different in persona to the roles he is normally associated with.  DS Grace’s girlfriend is the mortician Cleo Morley, played by Laura Whitmore, who brings her presentation skills into the limelight, with »
