Terminator Reboot Teams Deadpool Director and Producer James Cameron

With certain rights to the iconic Terminator franchise reverting back to Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day creator/director James Cameron in 2019, the filmmaker is prepping his return to the series. Cameron is planning to 'Godfather' a 'reboot and conclusion' of the first two movies, with Deadpool director Tim Miller in early talks to direct. David Ellison, who bought the franchise rights from his sister Megan Ellison in 2013, is funding an "exploratory effort" that brings some of the top sci-fi authors together to "find the movie creatively."

Deadline broke the news, but even the site concedes that it's unclear what direction the story will go in. After directing 1984's The Terminator and its blockbuster 1991 sequel Terminator 2: Judgment Day, James Cameron backed away from the franchise, and he wasn't involved in 2003's Terminator 3: Rise Against the Machines, the 2008 TV series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, 2009's Terminator Salvation or last year's Terminator Genisys. »

Hellboy 3 Talks Are Officially Happening

Ever since the release of Hellboy II: The Golden Army in 2008, Hellboy fans have been clamoring for Hellboy III, to close out the trilogy. Every now and then, either director Guillermo del Toro or star Ron Perlman will offer some sort of an update, but earlier this week, Guillermo del Toro put fans to the ultimate test. He put up a Twitter poll, asking fans to vote either "Yes" or "Hell Yes" for Hellboy 3, promising that he'll set up a meeting between himself, Ron Perlman and Mike Mingola, who created the Hellboy comics, if over 100,000 fans voted in 24 hours. It seems the fans came through, and this meeting will happen soon. Here's what the director had to say on Twitter yesterday morning.

"I spoke with Ron Perlman. He's in for the sit down. Will approach Mignola next. Will keep you posted. Very moved by your love of pt I »

Gypsy Danger Returns in Pacific Rim 2 Jaeger Art

Pacific Rim was a movie that found relatively modest success for a blockbuster of its size and scope in 2013, but luckily for fans, it was enough for Legendary Pictures to justify a sequel. It may have taken a few years, but Pacific Rim 2 is happening and it seems like nobody is more excited about that than Star Wars: The Force Awakens star John Boyega. Sure, he probably loves the first Pacific Rim, but he is playing one of the leads in the sequel and has been regularly sharing teases for Pacific Rim: Uprising on social media. His latest tease gives us a glimpse at one of the Jaegers set to appear in the movie.

John Boyega posted an illustration of what looks to be the Jaeger Gypsy Danger from the first Pacific Rim to his Instagram. Even though it is just an illustration and not an actual, finished image »

G.I. Joe and Transformers Movie Crossover Will Happen, But When?

Transformers came out nearly a decade ago and that movie was important in that, it proved toys could provide fuel for a billion dollar franchise. Paramount tried to capture that same fire in a different bottle with G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra back in 2009, but it didn't quite get there. The sequel, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, which brought the "franchise Viagra" known as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson into the fold, fared better and there were plans for a third movie. Unfortunately, it looks like that movie isn't happening anytime soon, which is a shame because it was recently revealed that G.I. Joe 3 would have featured a crossover with the Transformers franchise.

Disturbia director D.J. Caruso was brought on to develop G.I. Joe 3 in early 2015, but movement on the project has been pretty slow. He eventually moved on and decided to direct xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, instead. »

Shaft Reboot Gets Fantastic Four Director Tim Story

Back in February 2015, New Line Cinema announced they were developing a Shaft remake, with John Davis producing through his Davis Entertainment company. At the time, no writer or director had been attached to the project, but that has all changed. Today a new report claims that Tim Story is in negotiations to direct, from a script by Black-ish creator Kenya Barris and Alex Barnow. This report also confirms that the project will follow another relative of Richard Roundtree's original title character.

Deadline reports that New Line plans to "reinvigorate" the franchise by focusing this reboot on the son of John Shaft, who is navigating the murky area between law enforcement and organized crime in New York City. No specific plot details were revealed, but this format could potentially allow Richard Roundtree to return as John Shaft, and Samuel L. Jackson to also come back as his nephew, also named John Shaft. »

Inhumans TV Show Gets a Director, Vin Diesel Still Wants a Movie

Marvel Studios initially announced their plans for Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe back in 2014. For the most part, they have stuck to that plan but there has been some shifting around, like the inclusion of Spider-Man: Homecoming, for example. Recently, it was announced that Inhumans was going to be made into a TV show, meaning that the movie, which was going to be one of the closing events in Phase 3, is all but scrapped. The Inhumans TV show, on the other hand, is moving full-steam ahead and they now have a director for the first two episodes.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, director Roel Reine will be tackling the first two episodes of The Inhumans, which are going to be shot in IMAX and will be screened in theaters over Labor Day weekend upon their debut. Roel Reine is probably best known for his movies The Delivery and Admiral, »

Green Lantern Corps. Targets Ryan Reynolds, Tom Cruise and Bradley Cooper?

Warner Bros. is continuing to be very bullish about their plans for the DC Extended Universe. Despite the very mixed response to both Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad, the studio is continuing to press ahead with their slate and even expand it, in some regards. They are officially moving ahead with Green Lantern Corps. and it looks like the casting process is underway. Shockingly, it looks like Ryan Reynolds is in the mix.

The Wrap recently published a report that claims to show the actors Warner Bros. and DC are looking at for the role of Hal Jordan in Green Lantern Corps. The list is definitely interesting, as it includes Bradley Cooper, Armie Hammer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Joel McHale, Tom Cruise and yes, Ryan Reynolds. Not only is Ryan Reynolds tied up with Deadpool right now, but he played Hal Jordan in the 2011 Green Lantern movie, which was a box office disaster, »

Michael Keaton Pretended to Be Batman on Spider-Man: Homecoming Set

Even before it was confirmed that Michael Keaton was playing the villainous Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming, fans were excited that he had signed on, since it marked his long-awaited return to the superhero genre. Long before the term "cinematic universe" was even coined, Michael Keaton played Bruce Wayne in Tim Burton's 1989 classic Batman, which, along with its 1990s sequels, helped pave the way for the superhero genre to thrive on the big screen today. While there is still much that isn't known about Vulture in this movie, Tom Holland revealed in a new interview that Michael Keaton could not stop name-checking Batman on the set.

Earlier this week, Michael Keaton teased that his Vulture character is not your typical type of villain, while clarifying that he originally turned down the project because it didn't mesh well with his schedule. He added that they shifted the production schedule to accommodate him, »

A Dog's Purpose Premiere Canceled Following Animal Abuse Scandal

Universal's upcoming movie A Dog's Purpose is the subject of a lot of controversy right now and has turned what looked like it was going to be a sweet escape for moviegoers into something very distressing. Recently, a video surfaced showing a German Shepherd on the set of the movie being forced to perform in artificial rapids. This has caused a ton of backlash from the public and even from some who worked on the movie. That has led Universal and Amblin to cancel the premiere, which was scheduled for this weekend in Los Angeles.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that the screening for A Dog's Purpose has been canceled, which doesn't bode well for the movie ahead of the release. PETA has also called for a boycott of the movie and has gathered a lot of online support from very upset people who have seen the video, which »

Blade Runner 2 Was More Secretive Than Walking Dead Says Lennie James

While there are so many movies to look forward to in 2017, there is one that has been 35 years in the making, Blade Runner 2049. The first Blade Runner 2049 trailer debuted last month, which has helped raise anticipation to an all-time high, with Harrison Ford reprising his iconic role as Rick Deckard, alongside Ryan Gosling as an Lapd cop known as K. While we wait for the next trailer, star Lennie James explains how secretive the production really was, even surpassing the secrecy of The Walking Dead

Blade Runner 2049 is set thirty years after the events of the first film, where a new blade runner, Lapd Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what's left of society into chaos. Trump Quotes Bane from Dark Knight Rises in Inauguration Speech?

20 January 2017 11:52 AM, PST

Today is a big day, not just in Washington D.C., or even the United States, but all over the world as humanity hangs in the balance upon Donald Trump becoming sworn in as the 45th President of the United States. Yes, today is Inauguration Day! And it seems that Donald Trump is playing up his role as villain in some eyes. A new side-by-side comparison video has emerged that shows Trump just stole part of his big White House speech from none other than DC Comics super villain Bane in The Dark Knight Rises.

The fine folks at UpRoxx were the first to make note of this seeming bit of plagiarism. You can see the video pieced together below. And it makes a good case for Trump taking on the role of Bane in the real-life, non-comic book universe we all currently inhabit. Here is Donald Trump's speech. »

Proof Peter Dinklage Is Playing Pip the Troll in Infinity War?

20 January 2017 10:58 AM, PST

Production on Avengers: Infinity War is expected to be getting underway soon, though, there are conflicting reports about when that may be exactly. Some claim it could be starting any day now in Atlanta, but others claim it won't really get underway until this summer. Either way, it is happening soon and the cast is going to be massive. One of the new additions is going to be Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage, but his role has not yet been officially revealed. Some new photos that have surfaced online may help shed some light on that, because they seem to all but confirm what Marvel character he is portraying.

Daily Mail recently caught Peter Dinklage getting his hair done in New York City. This was not just a simple trim, mind you, but it was a very telling change up. The 47-year-old actor was dying his hair a very specific shade of red, »

Tom Holland Makes One Bold Claim About His Spider-Man

20 January 2017 10:25 AM, PST

Whenever a new actor is cast as an iconic character, there will naturally be comparisons of the new actor, and those who have come before. Fans engaged in heated debates over which Batman was better, Christian Bale or Ben Affleck, and which Joker delivered the definitive performance, Jared Leto, Heath Ledger, or Jack Nicholson. These comparisons started sprouting up again when Tom Holland was cast as Spider-Man, making his debut in last summer's Captain America: Civil War, leading into this summer's stand alone adventure Spider-Man: Homecoming. Tom Holland just threw some new fuel on this comparative fire, claiming that his Peter Parker could beat up those Peter Parker's who came before him, played by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.

When Tom Holland made his debut as the web slinger in the Marvel blockbuster Captain America: Civil War, he became the third actor in the past 14 years to play Peter Parker/Spider-Man. »

Rowling also decided to continue the actual Harry Potter storyline with the stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Only 17% of Rogue One Dialogue Is Spoken by a Female Character

20 January 2017 9:00 AM, PST

A lot has been made bout the fact that both Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Rogue One have female lead characters, but a new study shows that might not be all it's cracked up to be. While both of these latest entries in the Star Wars franchise do have strong women as protagonist, both movies are still quite male heavy. Even lopsided. A new study shows that only 17% of the dialogue in Rogue One is spoken by one of the movies few female characters.

Jyn Erso led Rogue One to becoming the highest grossing movie in the U.S., no small feat that Felicity Jones helped push the movie to the top the box office as the face of this first Star Wars anthology movie. The prequel was also praised for its diverse cast. But diving deeper into the story elements, and what actually happens on screen shows »

Jared Leto Teases the Joker's Return with Disturbing Photo

19 January 2017 6:19 PM, PST

Last summer, DC Comics fans saw a new version of the iconic villain The Joker with Jared Leto's performance in Suicide Squad. While the movie was a critical disappointment, a sequel is still believed to be in development at Warner Bros. A report surfaced in August, just weeks after the movie hit theaters, claiming Jared Leto was unhappy with the finished version of Suicide Squad, casting doubt on his return in a sequel and/or any other DC Comics movies. That may not be the case, as the actor sent out a couple of cryptic photos through social media earlier today. One which pays homage to an iconic comic, and another, more disturbing image has that fans scratching their heads.

A report from September revealed that The Joker won't be featured in the upcoming Justice League movie, but there have been rumors that he may return in Ben Affleck »
