17 February 2017 5:22 PM, PST | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

J.J. Abrams and Stephen King are teaming up for a limited series on Hulu.

The surprise announcement came Friday evening, thanks to a mystery image posted on the official Twitter account of Abrams’ company Bad Robot. The tweet signaled fans to a trailer for the series, titled “Castle Rock,” an ode to the fictional town in Maine, which is a popular setting in many of King’s novels.

Fans of Stephen King, known as Constant Readers, will recognize “Castle Rock” as the setting in many of King’s books, including “Cujo,” “The Dead Zone,” and “The Body.”

The trailer winds a path past many famous locations found in King’s books — like ‘Salems Lot, the Shawshank State Prison, Pennywise (the clown from “It”), the name Annie Wilkes (the crazed uber-fan in “Misery”) and more — before zooming out on a map of Maine.

‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ Ratings Surge Has Suddenly Made Late Night Competitive Again

23 hours ago | Indiewire Television | See recent Indiewire Television news »

Donald Trump has already reignited at least one war: The one in late night.

In the nation’s 56 biggest markets – the ones where Nielsen has meters installed to report overnight ratings instantly – “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” was No. 1 on every night this week.

According to CBS, that marks the first time “The Late Show” has won every night of the week in the metered markets since Colbert took over in September 2015. “The Late Show” was up by double digits vs. last year all week; on Tuesday, the show was up 33% vs. the same night in 2016.

Among overall total viewers, “The Late Show” averaged 3.01 million viewers for the week of Feb. 6-10, putting it in first place overall for the second week in a row. It was Colbert’s best showing since his premiere week. NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” averaged 2.88 million viewers, while ABC’s »

For the record, Peter Gadiot is fully aware that he’s playing the CW version of Mr. Mxyzptlk, one of the zaniest — and traditionally unattractive — characters in the DC Universe.

Unfortunately the new Twin Peak isn’t premiering until May on Showtime, but fortunately Twin Peaks is premiering in May on Showtime. The mere fact that the David Lynch classic is even back after all this time is still a mystery to me. And if that hype wasn’t already high, these two new teasers are going to get people even more excited. I’ll be the first to tell you that these two teasers reveal absolutely nothing about the show’s 3rd season. What we do get however, are a pair of short, eerie clips soundtracked by Angelo Badalamenti that signify the very

So What Happened Last Night In Sweden? Twitter Ponders Donald Trump Mystery

So what exactly happened last night in Sweden? Or more accurately Friday night, which is when President Donald Trump suggested during his rally in Florida yesterday that something terribly terroristic had occurred. “Last night, we listened to Abba,” was one response coming from a country entirely unaware that it had been attacked. Trump made the seemingly off-the-cuff remark during his Florida rally, carried live on the news channels, while discussing the impact of… »

Categorizing The Entire South Park Cast in One Picture

I’ll never forget the first time I experienced South Park.  I was in college and there was this crazy video with Jesus and these 4 foul mouthed kids saying stuff you’ve never ever heard from cartoon characters.  Jesus proceeded to have a Street Fighter II type fight with none other than figure skater Brian Boitano and at that point we were all hooked.   Everyone I knew was talking about it and the name “South Park” became mainstream. However, I don’t think that anyone could have predicted that 20 years later the show would still be on Comedy Central, would

The Best Britney Ever After Viewer Reactions on the Internet

Not that this is a surprise, but most people weren’t exactly satisfied with the Lifetime original movie Britney Ever After last night.   The movie was supposed to take us behind the scenes and into the rise, fall, and rise again of pop star Britney Spears.  Given that it was a Lifetime movie it was already safe to assume that the movie would be over the top.  That much it was but it was so much more. Fans took to Twitter and Instagram to remark on some of their reactions to the “film.” One collective feeling was the sentiment that whatever

It’ hard to select a picture of Natalie Wood that one could consider to be the “best one ever” but since I never saw this once before today, I have to go with it.  Unfortunately I don’t know many details behind it but I do know that it was taken in 1970.   She’s 32 years old in this photo and it almost appears to be a precursor to what some of the trendiest styles in the 70s would become.   As you already know Wood was an American film and television actress. She was known for her screen roles in Miracle

Labyrinth will always go down as being one of the classics when it comes to the fantasy genre.  Like The Dark Crystal or The Neverending Story, Labyrinth was an exquisite collection of scenery, characters, and storylines that most movies in the 80s had never seen before.  Add to that the genius of Jim Henson and his characters, you can see why Labyrinth has remained a classic to this day.  You can also see why a reboot is in the works. What’s even more bittersweet about the film is one of its stars, David Bowie.  It’s the first movie where we

‘Billions’ Review: A Radical Proposal for Season 2 Fans Won’t Like Right Now, But Could Love Later

6 hours ago | Indiewire Television | See recent Indiewire Television news »

When “Billions” Season 1 ended two things happened: In the narrative, Damian Lewis’ hedge fund manager Bobby “Axe” Axelrod and Paul Giamatti’s U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhodes growled menacingly at each other from the demolished interior of Axe’s formerly luxurious office space. You see, Chuck had convinced Axe there was a bug somewhere on his turf, forcing him to tear it apart himself; wasting time, effort, and anxiety for what amounted to be a decent, if not exceptional, prank.

Jim Harper would be proud, but “Billions” isn’t a comedy. We need to feel the weight of this supposedly high-stakes story, not laugh at it. Once Axe had finished tearing apart his fancy schmancy office, the two started spitting fire at one another, making threats and promises; tossing insults back and forth; exchanging ever-building anger at the very existence of their opponent. But they didn’t say or do anything revelatory. »

What the Cast of Smallville Looks like Today

Just mentioning the show Smallville has put the theme song in my head for the entire day.  There’s just no way around it.  It’s somewhat difficult to believe that the show lasted as long as it did and yet even more hard to believe that the show ended all the way back in 2011.  I think most of us predicted that many of the cast members would move on to bigger and better projects but some of the cast have surprised us while others it was possible we could have predicted. But if there’s one thing we can thank Smallville
