Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2. Ego, The Living Planet's Powers

15 March 2017 5:18 PM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

Look friends, I don't mean to beat you over the head with Guardian of the Galaxy news today, but this quote from director James Gunn explains quite a bit. First, If you have not watched the new trailer, check it out below, and you may not notice but there is actually a lot of images of Ego in his planet form. So how can he pop out as the iron-jawed Kurt Russell when ever he wants? Gunn gives an explanation in an interview earlier today.

“Ego is a living planet who is able to manifest himself in different ways he’s been alone for millions of years and he’s learned how to control the molecules around him in such a way as to create avatars of themselves, such as Kurt Russell. I think Ego was a very lonely character out there by himself and went off in search of »

Feud: Why Joan Crawford and Bette Davis’ Rivalry Began Long Before Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?

6 March 2017 2:27 PM, PST | PEOPLE.com | See recent PEOPLE.com news »

Ryan Murphy’s new FX series Feud chronicles the bitter rivalry between screen legends Bette Davis and Joan Crawford as they film Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?, but the tension between the actresses actually started long before they filmed their 1962 thriller.

Their decades-long feud — which is dissected in the upcoming issue of People — stemmed from their very early days as they navigated the brutal Hollywood system.

The 1930s

When Davis moved from Broadway to Hollywood in 1930 at age 22, a then-25-year-old Crawford was already a sought-after star. Davis was the first to win an Oscar (for 1935’s Dangerous) but lost »

‘Collide’ Review: Despite Ben Kingsley At His Craziest, This Cut-Rate Car Chase Movie Crashes And Burns

24 February 2017 6:13 PM, PST | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

Sir Ben Kingsley has never been shy about hamming it up in low-rent garbage (check out 2015’s “Self / Less” to watch him dye his skin orange and play a bald-headed version of Trump), but his latest performance takes things to another level entirely. The kind of low-rent action movie that only exists because everybody involved knew that nobody in the Western world would ever see it, Eran Creevy’s “Collide” stars Nicholas Hoult as a reformed car thief and Felicity Jones as the dying girlfriend whose kidney failure inspires him to do one last job.

But they’re both really boring. You know who’s not boring? Geran, the Turkish drug kingpin who lives in a gold-plated trailer with four prostitutes, suffers from short-term memory loss, and likes to spend his free time watching the 1985 John Travolta classic, “Perfect” (that’s the one where Travolta goes undercover in a Los Angeles fitness club). If you’ve been missing Sydney Bristow, better book a ticket to Austin, TX. The Atx Television Festival announced today it will be hosting an “Alias” writers’ room reunion featuring many of the show’s long-time scribes, including Ken Olin, Lawrence Trilling, Sarah Caplan, Monica Breen, Jeff Pinkner, Andre Nemec, and Josh Appelbaum.

Creator J.J. Abrams has yet to be confirmed, but additional panelists will be announced at a later date. Last year, the Atx Festival hosted a writers’ room reunion for “The O.C.” that included creator Josh Schwartz.

Also announced this afternoon was a “Parks and Recreation” community screening. The erotic thrillers that followed Basic Instinct’s success

30 January 2017 9:46 AM, PST | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

Simon Brew Feb 3, 2017

When Basic Instinct hit big, Hollywood went hunting for more erotic thrillers. Er, it found some. Includes Kevin Spacey with odd hair.

When a movie hits big out of the blue, it’s unwritten Hollywood law that the imitators aren’t too far behind. That’s why, after American Pie brought Porky’s-esque sex-tinged (late) teen comedies back to prominence in 1999, the box office was flooded with similar fare for years after. The Blair Witch Project, meanwhile, hit out of nowhere, and found footage horror is only now dying away. The late Wes Craven, meanwhile, wryly noted just how quickly Hollywood had cashed in on the success of 1996’s Scream, when spoof Scary Movie popped out the year after.

Going back to 1992, though, and it was the turn of the erotic thriller to enjoy its resurgence. »

Mustachioed silver screen legend Burt Reynolds keeps unloading his memorabilia. The movie star is auctioning off his very own 1978 Pro-Touring Firebird Trans-Am. It’s the actor’s signature car — just like the one he drove in the late 1970s and early ’80s “Smokey and the Bandit” series. Cure for Wellness TV Trailer Rings in a Scary New Year

2 January 2017 4:14 PM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Now that 2016 has finally ended, you may be filling out some New Year's resolutions, to set some goals for yourself in 2017. Oftentimes, these resolutions go unfulfilled, a theme that is highlighted in a creepy new TV trailer for 20th Century Fox's A Cure For Wellness. Instead of "treating the symptom," this footage suggests that those who really want to improve themselves should "take the cure." While it remains unclear what this actual cure is, it does seem quite terrifying.

Dane DeHaan stars in this cerebral thriller from 20th Century Fox as an ambitious young executive who is sent to retrieve his company's CEO from an idyllic but mysterious "wellness center" at a remote location in the Swiss Alps.
